1. Arkansas-everybody thinks Texas/a&m is the great rivalry that we lost, but Texas/arky has far more history and I would love to play them every thanksgiving.

2. Tennessee-battle for UT

3. Florida state- the two premier schools in the two best football states

4. Nebraska-we could sure use that automatic W.

5. Alabama- See Nebraska.

Seriously

:lebowski2:
I thought about putting Oklahoma or Iowa in the 5th spot but the first 4 I'm pretty confident in. In retrospect, either answer is probably better than Iowa St but I figured keeping it in the Big12N was probably the right idea.

We're renewing our series with WVU this year and starting one with Wisconsin soon. We've have played Nebraska, Texas A&M, Ohio St., and LSU since 2000, but wouldn't mind getting another H&H series set up with each every ten years or so. Tennessee should also be a regular game every few years.

Teams we've played either only in bowl games or not at all I'd like to play:

- Texas
- Penn St
- Oregon (two small stadium schools with renown crowds)
- Oklahoma
- Georgia
- Bama (eh, why not?)
- Michigan (it was a catch!)
- USC

Essentially, I like challenging games with those in the national conversation, even though we haven't come through very often, but do play them tough. It is difficult to recruit enough depth to truly compete against these teams on a regular basis, but pulling an upset or two will help that, especially if we're playing these types of games on a yearly basis. Still may never have more than a couple 5 stars on the roster at any given time, but having a team that can consistently get back to the top 10 annually gives us a chance for the playoffs if we do get that special player (Vick).

I would've loved to have seen Beamer get a NC before he retired, but think Feunte came into a good situation that has the potential to get us back in that conversation over the next 5 years.

Teams that are kind of in the same ilk as Iowa where I think a home and home would be mutually beneficial would be UCLA, Georgia, Oklahoma St, Louisville. Non P5 I'd like to see Houston. Instead we will keep playing Iowa St.... yay...

1. Louisville - Long time rival.

2. Pittsburgh - Another rival.

3. Notre Dame - Because fuck Brian Kelly and I want to beat him.

4. Ohio State - No chance because of recruiting competition, but I'll like it.

5. Hawaii - It's always a classic when we play them for some reason.

It's not about being "mutually beneficial" It's about "We'll play anyone, anywhere, any time". If you can't say that with confidence, then you don't belong *in the Big Ten.

*Edit: You don't belong in the national conversation ever.

Well you got to be realistic. Sure I'd love home and home with Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson etc but Iowa isn't a blue blood and they aren't some new hot team. Iowa is a fringe top 25 all time program who finishes is the top 10 every 4 or 5 years over the last 30 years or so. That's just reality so those are the kind of teams we could get to play home and home. Unfortunately we can't even do that as long as shitty Iowa St is on the schedule.

I'm 100% sure you could schedule a mid tier SEC team which would be 10 times better than a mid tier Big 12 team or roller coaster teams like Louisville. Houston... Really dude, Herman is gone.

I picked one similar team out of each P5 league and one mom P5. All those teams have results similar to Iowa over the last 15 years or so

As long as it's not North Texas, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, or Middle Tennesee State.

No more North teams and no more State teams. At least for ONE of your non cons.
