Damnit @SJ76

Your making another convert. This time a International Reader of all 7 pages

I took a look at all of them...............

Quite interested in the Roku and the Nexus (Roku more)

You will enjoy it and have plenty of TV. Plus not having to deal with the cable company is worth a lot of money to me

I'd love to have fiber or really any other options and antenna really isn't an option for us either. Kind of stuck with Comcast. Live too far away from Seattle to really pick up decent TV signals and too far from the phone CO to even get DSL, more or less do they have fiber in our area. We will drop the phone when our daughter graduates from high school. It's really there in case of emergency.

Really?

I see some of the higher end outdoor HD antennas that they say are good to 150 miles.

At least that is what they claim.

I'm at least 50 miles from the outskirts of Seattle, but we have crazy hills and some of the most turbulent and unpredictable skies in the country. Even radio is hit and miss. Spent a number of years running CB and ham and this region is just terrible for stable transmissions.

Well if you have ham experience than you would be the authority on the subject.

That kinda blows. I can tell you that my change over to streaming was not easy. I really missed live TV. Sling is OK but it was the HD antenna that gave me my live TV fix.

Plus the HD antenna blew away Sling in picture quality during all of the football playoffs and SB. Not to mention that Sling is like a full minute behind the network broadcast.

Kodi Krypton is out. Not sure what works best with it though. Will start another thread.

Youtube streaming TV is coming out soon. @SJ76 will be happy with this huge news.

Will be the lowest price besides sling tv and will offer local network channels and more than the others . Cable companies are going to lose a fortune in equipment fees. Direct TV also has Direct Now as a streaming option as well just out. Verizon and other cable companies are panicking and scrambling to come out with alternatives of their own.

Cant wait to switch. I already have Kodi for additional channels and sports too. Bye Bye Cable.

Trying out PSVue and Sling with a fire stick this weekend. Really aggravated with PSVue because apparently they don't show the rangers games on the local fox sports network even though I was told they would. That's really dissapointing because I love their UI, but I gotta have my rangers games. Looking like asking or nothing unless some of you like @SJ76 have some tips.

Sling has sports packages. I would call and see if Fox sports is one of them.

Yes. Roku 2 is all I need. Roku 4 is available and maybe even the 5 is out. Not sure

Might be able to go to an electronics store and do some research to put an HD antenna in the attic..? They have some that reach 50 miles. But if you are low in the bottom of a valley you might have to mount an outdoor antenna.

I'm watching the ranger game on sling right now. Just disappointed because I like Vue's UI and cloud based DVR. Was trying to figure out if there was a way to watch the games and keep PSVue. Thought I'd use the fox sports go app, but they want you to log in with info from your cable company to access their content.

Have you tried your sling login? I don't know about fox sports, but I know on ESPN app the sling login works.

I don't believe it's an option, but it's a moot issue. I can watch ranger games with Sling. It's PSVue I couldn't watch on. One thing I like about Sling is I can upgrade and get the SEC and PAC networks for $5 a month during football season and then drop them after. Hell, if I decide I don't need ESPN for a couple months I can drop my orange stream too.

I have my sling dropped right now. I won't subscribe again until football season. I either watch Netflix or watch local stations over the antenna(usually old shows).

I honestly wouldn't care that much about having cable channels if it weren't for rangers games. My wife on the other hand...

The best is when you search on their website to get a lower price and you click on the "bundle" you want and try to "pick" the channels and service you want the website doesn't let you!

Getting irritated with my antenna for my local channels. I bought a GE bar that is supposedly amplified and I'm still having trouble consistently picking up my local ABCchanmel.
