Niners had a hell of a day with 2 of the 6 or 7 best players in the draft in Thomas and Foster. Love Tampa getting Howard to go with a Evans and Jackson as well. Eagles got the best pass rusher in the draft in Barnett and I'm ecstatic my Falcons got another high motor speed rusher to go opposite Beasley.

Day 2 I'll be interested to see where Kizer and Cook end up. One of them is heading to Cleveland I think with their first pick in round 2. What do you have your eyes on day 2?

I'd watch pick 33. With the dust settling, teams are going figure out if they can wait on Kizer/Webb or not.

Hey congrats to your Chiefs my man. You got the best QB in the draft imo

Cleveland traded the 1st pick in the 2nd round to Green Bay, so they're not setting the tone for day 2. They do have the 20th pick in round 2, but those guys could all be long gone by then

Well for me as a Bronco fan I am pretty darn happy with our 1st round pick. Fills biggest hole on the team and the guy fits perfectly with what the Broncos are trying to build with their OL.

So day 2 looking for some playmakers on both sides of the ball. Some great TE's still left and of course some great RB's still available. Carlos Henderson is on my wish list as well.

It's ok, they do pick 20th in round 2...just don't know if any of those guys will be there
I'd be shocked but they could trade back up if needed or just wait it out

Yeah, quite a few are telling me that even though I am slower to come around. He's going to be in a very favorable (probably the most favorable of any QB in this draft) environment from the coach on down. Very curious to see what he does despite my concerns with him.

Taco will be a developmental player but I think he'll round out well.

We need to continue with DEs and maybe a CB or two.

Can't teach arm talent and that kid has it in spades

It's the stuff upstairs and pocket presence I worry more about. He in a lot of ways has the opposite flaws Kizer does. Kizer is pretty rigid, but when he understands where he is going he is on time, manages the pocket, and can be surprisingly accurate. When he's not? Well, that's why he's not a top 5 pick nor QB1. Mahomes just lacks any kind of recognizable scheme discipline, hot damn. Makes it work, but the NFL transition on that is sketchy. Wouldn't be the first wild child QB Reid has worked with: Brett Favre comes to mind. If Mahomes can tighten things up, that would be a really nice easy button.

Honestly Pissed off but staying out at 34 and taking Lamp or Robinson might help

Seems like the Chiefs have decided to go polar opposite of what they have now in Smith. I'm with you on the concerns with Mahomes. Those things can be taught for sure but he is just all over the board and I think some of the throws he made in college NFL teams will eat him alive on. He went to the right place though with a coach that knows how to work with QB's and a year where he can develop before being thrown to the wolves.

This is my fear. The other side of that coin is Brett Favre, however. He'll be starting off in a better situation than those Bronco teams Cutler started off with.

Not sure I agree with this. The year before the Broncos drafted Cutler they went to the AFC Championship game. They had a good OL, great defense, and added some offensive playmakers. He was also given the chance to sit on the bench to start off learning behind Plummer.

Andy Reid will be integral to his success. I had a feeling the Bears were going QB early this draft. I wouldn't be surprised if they double dip TBH. They signed Glennon to what practically amounts to a one year deal to be a mentor. They really tried to foster an environment in which they could develop a young QB, and I like the moves to do it, but KC is definitely in the best situation to develop a rookie QB. I was never high on Mahomes, but if Reid likes him, I'm sure he could make him into a very good QB. Alex Smith isn't bad while he develops either.

When it comes to building up QB's I'd much rather have Reid than Shanahan; that is probably the most important differentiation between the two.

If he doesn't look disinterested in every game he plays in, you'll have a better QB. Like I stated earlier, the Chiefs are approaching this QB development in the right way. Who knows, he may be throwing deepballs like Aaron Rodgers in a few years.
