Heading west, Memphis athlete Cam Jones is certainly feeling the Vols. Even with his recent commitment to Indiana, last weekend was eye-opening for him. He's the brother of VFL LaRon Harris and it certainly appears that the Vols have made a big move for him. We wouldn't expect him to do a wholesale flip yet, but he certainly has plenty to think about.

“I talk to Tennessee on a daily basis really,” Davis said. “I just got a text from coach Hoke this morning (Sunday) to call him. “I talk to coach Wells the most, but I talk to coach Hoke a lot. Sometimes when I'm talking to them coach Jones jumps on and talks to me. “I'm listening to everyone right now and giving them a chance to talk to me. My mom is telling me to not turn people down because everyone brings different things to the table. I just want to see what everyone has to offer.”

“I watched the draft and I saw the Tennessee players get drafted and that left an impression on me,” the 6-5, 230 pound Davis offered. “Watching how they played and how the players handled themselves in their interviews and talking about how Tennessee was for them. “If you are having players getting drafted if leaves an impression on me and it gives you more credibility.”

In addition to visiting Alabama this year, he has also seen LSU and Memphis. In June, Davis hopes to see the Vols. “I plan on visiting Tennessee really soon,” Davis said. “They tell me that I'm the number one guy on their chart and I want to get up there to see them in June. “I plan on visiting 4-5 places this summer. I want to go back to Alabama, of course Tennessee. I would like to see Mississippi State and Auburn.”

On Sunday, Jones was a participate in the National Playmakers Academy camp in Nashville where he showed exactly what has schools chasing him. “Everyone likes my edge rush and ability to run sideline to sideline,” Davis said.

Dingle (6-foot-2, 235 pounds), from Bowling Green, Ky., was one of many Vol targets at Sunday’s loaded NPA showcase event in Nashville and talked about his interest in Tennessee.

“I like Tennessee a lot right now, there one of the schools that I talk to the most,” Dingle said. “I like coach Thigpen a lot. That’s a good relationship. We probably talk every other day. He really does a good job of staying in touch with me. We talk about a lot of different things, not just football. “I’m trying to get back to Tennessee soon, I haven’t been back there since junior day.”

“Being from Tennessee I still consider myself an in-state guy even though I moved away, I definitely say I’m from Tennessee,” Dingle said. Dingle also observed that he sees more than a little similarity between himself and current Vol middle linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr.

“I think I have a pretty similar game to Darrin Kirkland, we’re close to the same size. I think we’re similar players,” he shared. “Coach Thigpen has told me that they like me at the MIKE position. He thinks that I’d be a good fit in their scheme. “I’ve watched them a lot and I think that scheme, the way they use the MIKE, that it would be a good fit for me.”

Dingle said he expects to return to Tennessee for a visit most likely in June. Getting him back on campus in the summer will be key because as of now he hopes to end his recruitment at the close of summer. “I’d like to decide by the end of the summer. I don’t want to be thinking about recruiting during my football season,” he said of his timeline. “I think I’ll take advantage of that early signing period in December.”
