I was also cracking up right after game 6 when they went to the studio. They started prepping for the Pens-Caps and Mike effing Rupp goes "OV really needs to get to his physical game more vs. the Pens, hardest hitter I've ever faced, etc." Dude. Rupp has done a decent amount of work with the Pens this year and last, did he not learn a damn thing?

If Ov chases Malkin or Crosby like he chased Kadri, it's gonna be ugly.

Holtby had a .917 save percentage against the Pens this year.

If you are a Pens' fan, don't look up what the save percentage for either Murray or Fleury was. It ain't pretty.
This is true. Pens/Caps split their 4 games this year, but the Pens won their two in OT or SO, while the Caps wins were blowouts.

Teams haven't faced each other since January, so all bets are off at this point.

After the Pens win game 3 to make the series 2-1 Washington.

The Penguins have a bunch of little guys in visors runnin' around, bumping goalies... I mean look at Bobnoski in the last series, eh...but NOTHIN' happens!! Washington needs to be tufffff! But Trotz, dummy that he is folks, is playing KEEZNUTSOFF more than Tommy Wilson. I know you tree huggers out there will say "but he scores points". IT DOESN'T MATTER. Minus 1 in tonight's game!!! DOESN'T MATTER!!! You get a guy like Wilson ... good Toronto boy, I watched him with the Marlies and I always said this a guy you win Cups with... you get him out there, boy, and Malkin and Hornberquest will leave Holtby alone. Anyhow caman what's next... Hey Washington should never have gotten rid of John Forskine too, eh? My kinda player.

Anyway folks back to the Toronto series...

I've of the belief that the first round is usually the toughest round to win especially if expectation are high. I think now that the Caps have survived round 1, they can relax somewhat and just play their style of game. Also, Holtby didn't look like his usual self in round 1 (he was much better in the last two games against the Leafs), if he finds his game and continues his strong goaltending play, the Caps will be a tough out.

Statistics show that 43% of teams entering the playoffs lose in the first round.

1. Sorry eloco about the Steeler's fan showing up in a hockey thread. What a löser.
2. I totally agree with previous sentiments. If the Caps try to overhit, the Pens speed can make them pay. The Pens are (Malkin notwithstanding) much more willing to skate away from that stuff and stick to their game than in previous years. Kudos to Sullivan on that one.
3. This series scares the crap out of me.
4. Caps in 6 :( No Letang, up in the air goalie situation, law of averages, etc.

I sure hope I'm wrong, and it should be a great series, but I've got a bad feeling about this one.

Great one for the neutrals, though.

Unfortunately most Penguins fans that know the game feel like this. I hope the Penguins can pull it off, but believe they just don't have the manpower this year.

Its not scary, it's just some of us fans are still comforted knowing we won the cup last year and this year we have a depleted squad...

It's all good!

But, I think the Pens take it in 7

This plays a big part in my mentality this series. Anything beyond this point is all gravy, especially without Letang and Murray.

Pens got outplayed for long stretches against the Blue Jackets, but the Pens just were able to finish better. Caps will be much better at finishing than Columbus was.
