I was impressed with the Cavs bench in this series.

Love and Smith did not have very good series'. Besides LeBron of course, and some great play by Kyrie (except in Game 3), the Cavs bench played well and played a significant role in the Cavs sweeping.

Deron Williams looks to be a very solid acquisition. The risk of picking up a guy like that so late is that he wont have time to truly get into the system, get to know everyone, where everyone will be etc...but he has done a nice job of it.

One of the nice things the Cavs have is a veteran bench with a lot of nice pieces-- guys that are smart basketball players, that are mentally tough, and that can shoot.

You can look at the box score at the end of the game all you want and I have already some of the starters need to play better D but the effort is getting there. I have seen flashes of some great defense and when I say flashes I mean entire quarters, they just have to put it all together. It really doesn't matter if we see it bc nobody will give them credit since the East has weak offenses. As long as I see improvement I know it is a good thing and they started off the series playing shit defense and that 2nd half in game 3 was a turning point, hopefully they can continue to play with that effort.

Found all the talk about the Pacers being dangerous.

My god if you're going to make a ridiculous statement like that one. Please have hardcore evidence of that. I took these quotes from the first 1-2 pages when guys were making their predictions prior to the series starting.

Here are a few, without caring to spend more than 30 seconds looking. Anyway, its not just about this series. Its the pattern that happened every east series last year and will continue every series this year.

DJ: "Cavs beat the Pacers, 4-2. Wouldn't shock me it went 7 either."

bk: "Good luck to the Cavs vs the Pacers. They will be a tough out. PG-13 is playing his best ball of the year."

Klaw: "The Pacers have been lookin good lately and if they draw a Raps team who are known to choke in the playoffs, it could be an interesting series. You don't even have to go back far as the Pacers had them on the ropes last year until they blew that lead in GM 5."

lol. I clearly stated there were a few who thought the series would be difficult. I even admitted that I was one of those but as I said before, most predicted a sweep or 5 game series.

And your Klaw post is stupid. He was clearly talking about a possible Pacers/Raptors series

Kyrie diving all over the floor and getting 3 blocks was impressive in Game 4.

He has turned the effort up.

Its not put together yet- thats for sure- they still have room and time to improve- but its getting there. They did some nice things.

The thing is the whole series revolved around PG defensively, when you devote your entire scheme around one player the downfall is leaving others wide open and that is something they lived with. They knew Indiana didn't have many shooters, why do you think they were leaving Lance wide open? He knocked down a ton of jumpers in Game 4. So you really can't say..."ohh they gave up a ton of points" They had a strategy and it worked. If this was a team with a ton of shooters they would be playing off of them, they wanted to provide help defense ALL series with PG. That's why I said, we have to see what next series is like. If they play the Bucks they will have to stay on these guys bc they have more shooters.

SportsHoopla's guide to commenting on a Cavs eastern conf playoff series, before and after...

Before the Series Starts
Talk about how dangerous the Cavs opponent is.

After the Series Ends
Talk about how completely garbage the Cavs opponent is.

Indiana is garbage, PG is garbage. Indiana should in the lottery.

that is one of the good things about the Cavs in the playoffs.

They do a really nice job of getting a plan, and executing it, using the extra time and the fact you are playing a team multiple times to prepare.

lets be honest - what can you do to prepare for bron and KI? lol....

but the Cavs did a nice of job of limiting PG and making sure he iddnt go crazy. Esp. after game 1.

George- during that last regular season game where it went double OT looked really good- the Cavs werent showing their hand though. They executed pretty nicely against him overall i nthe series.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. But I agree that he is a star....Not a superstar IMO

Well considering there are only a couple superstar in this league, I agree but I would still want him as a 1st option depending on what team he is on bc he is a dominant force. Him losing to Lebron is just the usual, Lebron ruins great players.

Sarcasm is not allowed in this thread. The Lakers had a great season.

I agree with this. Not saying he's not a first option at all. He without a question is. Just not in my superstar category. I honestly only have 5 or 6 guys in that group so it's really not a knock on PG

exactly

LeBron makes a lot of guys look bad and get frustrated , lol.

Pacers prob win at least a couple games against anyone in the East except the Cavs.

If you are building a team- with PG at 26 years old (right 26 or 27?) he HAS to be in the top 15 guys youd want as y our #1 right now.

I mean- there are TONS of teams in the league that PG would go to and instantly be their best player and make the team tons better.

lol....well- sarcasm aside- the Lakers "great" season will be determined on lotto day- itll either be amazing or a disaster depending on ping pong balls.
