Haha...the classic fallback...."taken out of context"

Even his own coach doesn't think he is ready

lol, yup,

"I said what I said but wait I'm getting backlash for it..... I didn't mean what I said"

And I thought Notre Dame produced smart folks - Who knew?

How idiotic - what possible upside can come from this for him? Does he really think that some NFL team moves him up their draft board because of confidence. Hell - wasn't he benched for the Stanford game due to performance?
Getting benched by Brian Kelly is like benching Hoyer for Ryan Mallett. Sure he wasn't his best but it's still a stupid and borderline illiterate decision. Brian Kelly is just not a good coach, imo. Kizer was pretty clearly the best QB they had.

While what he said is a stretch, he's certainly the most physically gifted QB in this draft. And probably the most since Cam Newton. As far as his "mind" is concerned, he did a lot of dumb shit at ND so he has a ways to go there.
When you look at how he processes the pocket and reads I actually agree; though he clearly needs work and probably would benefit from being on the bench for a year. Physically Mahomes may appeal to some more but his decision-making is a lot more questionable both in the pocket and his actual throws. If you put a gun to my head I'd probably say Kizer is my guy if you are swinging for an elite QB in this draft.

I would agree. I think Kizer has the potential to be an elite NFL QB. He also has the highest odds to be a potential bust as well. Really feast or famine with him.

I'll give the kid this, at least he has confidence in himself. We'll see if he can back it up on the field.
To think he is just two years removed from almost giving up football for a baseball career because he thought he would never get his shot. Malik Zaire breaking his ankle was the best thing that ever happened to him.

He shouldn't have taken the "out of context" rebuttal. He said exactly what you want in a player with the only person stopping me being the greatest is me.

This is one of my complaints with him. Screw the "my bad" crap- defend yourself and seize it. Wouldn't want my QB to be much different even if he isn't vocal about it.

I know literally nothing about the guy but nothing he said was bad so he should just own it or even double down instead essentially apologizing. It's not like he was saying it in the way Manziel or Leaf did.

Yep, he took advantage of a situation which is what your suppose to do in football and now it's time for him to prove it on the field.

I think more players should have this type of confidence.

Brady didn't quite have this much confidence, but you can find plenty of excerpts of things he said when he was first drafted and he knew how good he was.

Good for Kizer

Good for him. Be bold as hell, there's nothing to lose. Showing this level of confidence is only going to help.
Until he goes to a losing organization and struggles. We'll see if his psyche can handle it? Or do we witness the (RGIII, Cam Trilogy)?

Kizer: I combine Brady's mind, Newton's body

Ex-Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer: 'No one else can do what I do'

Calling himself a mix of Tom Brady's mind and Cam Newton's body, former Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer says he has the ability to be "the greatest quarterback to ever play."

"No one else can do what I can do," Kizer told USA Today Sports in an interview that was published Thursday. "And I've truly figured out in this [draft] process, if I can maximize all my potential in every aspect of the game -- this is bold -- I do have the ability to be the greatest quarterback to ever play.

"Imagine taking Brady's intellect and Brady's preparation and putting it on a guy with Cam Newton's body. Why can't I be the greatest? The only thing stopping me from is me. That's what's driving me now."

Kizer tweeted later Thursday that reaction to his remarks have been taken "way out of context."
Who does this guy think he is ? Donovan McNabb or something

Unless he's knocked up two chicks at the same time, I don't wanna hear any Tom Brady comparisons.

Not sure how Cam compares to RG3, considering he's won the MVP and went to a Super Bowl.

Also, if that's going to happen, it's going to happen regardless of if he says what he does. I want my QB to have this sort of bravado and confidence.

Kizer's scouting report on himself has the Brown's front office convinced. Going number 1 overall!

Both Can and RGIII are mental midgets is my point. Whether that came from losing (not being the best athlete on the field) any longer who knows. Sorry their repeated melt downs and antics and in RG case his Dad's involvement doesn't scream confidence to me.
Bravado is great when you're winning. Not so much when you're losing. See Rex Ryan if you need proof.
