Report: Longhorns reached out to former Notre Dame QB Malik Zaire about joining program | SportsDay
"While college football's recruiting season is the books, several teams still hope to add more talent before the fall.
And the Longhorns are no exception. According to HornsDigest, head coach Tom Herman's staff reached out to former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire about joining the program this summer as a graduate transfer.

Zaire put his transfer plans into motion once Notre Dame granted him an unconditional release in November. The 6–1 senior decided to leave the Fighting Irish after star quarterback DeShone Kizer jumped him on the depth chart early in the season.
According to HornsDigest, Texas still isn't a leading candidate to add Zaire. The Ohio native reportedly hopes to join a program with a clear quarterback opening so he can immediately contend for a starting job.
Still, Herman's interest in Zaire signals that Texas seeks additional depth behind center. The team currently features just two quarterbacks on scholarship in freshman Sam Ehlinger and sophomore Shane Buechele. Herman likely hopes a transfer like Zaire could supply the young group with some needed experience
Zaire will reportedly make his decision in April."
Do you guys think Zaire will join the Longhorns?
