No. 1 prospect Porter follows dad to Mizzou

No. 1 prospect Michael Porter Jr. has committed to Missouri.

His commitment comes one day after his father, Michael Porter Sr., accepted an offer to join Cuonzo Martin's staff at Missouri as an assistant coach.

"It's home," the younger Porter told ESPN on Friday. "I love the city, the fans and I feel like next year we can do something very special there."

It's a good day. Many Mizzou fans saw this coming but it's nice to see it come to fruition.

1 player won't make a difference look at the kid from Wash. Going to be the #1 or #2 pick and Wash sucked.

Might be the third #1 NBA pick in a row to not make the NCAA tournament...

Yeah, but he had to play through Romar which is clearly impossible at this point. Good riddance to that guy.

Awful decision. Mizzou is at best a 12 win team next year even with Porter. These kids wasting their one year in college is so freaking dumb.

My guess is that this roster will be completely overhauled. But I still can't see it being an NCAA tournament team.

Wouldn't be surprised if Blake Harris followed him.

Porter's younger brother might reclassify to 2017 and play with him next year too.

Plus he may help try to get some of those Washington recruits who are leaving in a mass exodus.

Really does it matter where he goes to college? Michael Porter Jr. will be a one and done at Missouri.

No, but this is a college basketball forum, figured I'd start a thread
