sitting games for extra rest is just fucking lame......you want to play 72 games then adjust salaries or season length accordingly

Thing is, teams can get around this and say a player tweaked their hamstring or has a sore ankle.
and itll probably be TRUE most of the time.

I mean- its not like they just made up Kyrie's knee injury- or Love's knee surgery.

now the Warriors sitting out all those guys when they are completely healthy? thats not good- i wouldnt even have the Cavs do that--- at least stagger it somewhat if the guys are healthy.

but- like i said

shit- if you are a spurs fan? are you really that sad you didnt get to see those guys? thats a gift win- and might be the reason you get home court throughout the playoffs

am i the only one that values my team winning a game they should probably ordinarily lose more then seeing LeBron James punk my team? lol.

i dunno about you- but if i am a Memphis fan- im happy those 3 guys sat- Love, Kyrie and Bron earlier in the year- a game that was once one of the hardest on the schedule- becomes an automatic win. Forgive me- but i think thats preferable then to see The King beat my teams brains in.

like- the 2nd last game of the season the CAVs come into Miami--- the Heat just might be playing for their playoff lives--- are you gonna be pissed if Love, Kyrie and LeBron sit that game? I sure as hell wouldnt be if i wanted my team to make the playoffs.

The players would LOVE a 72 game season. LOL at the league ever doing it.

2 biggest problems i have with it

-what @bksballer89 said-- the dynamic pricing- charging more for those games- and then seeing guys sit.

-Cavalier fans on the road. If you are a Cavs fan in Memphis- that is a bitch.

Best arguments against it:

-the League bitching about LeBron costing them revenue is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. No one has made them more money outside of maybe MJ. (and LeBron will of course- play in DOZENS UPON DOZENS UPON DOZENS of more games than MJ did by the end of his career- probably hundreds more)

-its only a small handful of games- more than made up for by deep playoff run after deep playoff run after deep playoff run

-in the long run- LeBron misses LESS games by sitting out and maintaining his health. Its better to have him sit 7-9% of the seasons games- then rip up his knee or achillees by playing when he is fatigued.

-dont you want to see your own team win? dont their chances go up exponentially when LeBron sits?

Exactly.

I was always fine with the resting in late march/early april to get ready for the playoffs but this resting BS from November-Mid March is pretty lame.

the players would love it if they didnt have to take a pay cut.

you think the players would take a 12% pay cut for a 12% reduction in games? Thats what the problem is.

And the league shouldn't do it. As a owner, you don't want to miss out on that money.

Also funny how in the NHL they play the same amount of games but there's no issue there. Guess it is true that basketball players are soft.

This is the first time that Whiteside has been named Player of the Week. He’s the second Heat player to earn the honor this season, joining Dion Waiters who was recognized in late January.

Whiteside averaged 20.0 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.67 blocks while shooting 73.0 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the foul line. He also led the team in rebounds and blocks.

In all three games last week Whiteside earned a double-double and has done so in Miami’s last twelve games, a franchise record.

until their player checks get cut 10 games pay......
no one wants to give up any money. They are all greedy.

the TV networks are the ones that are fucked that paid gigantic sums of money for long term TV contracts that are starting to precipitously fall off due to "cord cutting"

i wonder if they could sue for BoC and just get out of the deals completely....i dont know how they can possibly make money off them--- so many people are cancelling their cable subscriptions.

he might have a dozen by now and an all star appearance or two!

instead- 1 POTW and zero all star appearances- because he spent a decent amount of his career in the dleague and overseas- and not because he doesnt have the talent-

a guy that size- with that athletic ability- will be 28 in June.

1 POTW.

what was that movie- "A Bronx Tale"?

saddest thing in life is wasted potential?

Besides, he looks healthier now.

He just got a max.
I didn't know his life was wasted.
He prob earns another 200M during his career if he stays healthy.
