So far he's been just OK in my opinion.

Buckner was named to the all rookie team and won other rookie honors. Buckner led all NFL defensive lineman with 1,108 snaps on the season and ranked second with 73 tackles. His six sacks were good for fourth among rookies.

That's pretty good. I didn't realize that.

Nice to finally have a GM and HC working together and doing good things. Im loving this front office right now. Great trade today. Pro Bowl Center for nothing.

Buckner is a Beast. Lets Hope Armstead isn't a Bust. He is starting to get me nervous.

Only one season last year as an alternate but likely better than the 9ers have at the moment. He has issues when facing NTs

Who cares he is a Top Center and we can use help. All these moves and we still have the most cap. Good things are ahead. Baby steps. Kilgore is a waste. We now have a pro bowl Center.

Not saying was a decent trade .just stop calling him a Pro-Bowler .Just one season(last year) and he was an alternate pick.

Yes. There is a reason why Baltimore was going to waive him. Injury issues and had issues with nose tackles but for a swap of 6 round picks why not

We will get an idea of Armstread this year hopefully. Not too concerned yet. Many thought he was the best player in camp last year till his injury. I blame mgmt on that one. It was obvious he was ineffective trying to play through that torn rotator cuff. They should have just shut him down and had surgery at the start of the season

He's a pro bowl caliber player even if it's an alternate pick, and that is certainly better than Kilgore or Martin. The guy is in the very least a top 5-10 center in the league that is a plus in my book.

Yeah hopefully he can come back from the injury and be the player people have hoped he could be.

This will be his 3rd year and I hope he comes back stronger from his injury. Since 2005, only six 1st round draft picks are still with the Niners. 5 of those are from 2013 to 2016. Only Joe Staley from 2007 is with the team. A defensive line of Buckner, Armstead, Mitchell, Dial and maybe Allen or Thomas would be solid.

Not all of them were busts some left as free agents. Crabtree and Iupati come to mind two other retired early that were good players.

and its not like we are saying he is a pro bowl player because he made it 3 years ago. He made it last year. So yes we are getting pro bowl type player. Its a good pick up. Worst case Kilgore or the new guy can play guard.

This is a good trade because we didn't give up much and we aren't paying him much. He is certainly an upgrade over M. Martin and he'll likely start over Kilgore.

On the other hand, not expecting another Pro Bowl performance because there must be a reason it ONLY cost us 12 spots in the SIXTH round.

Hoyer's a bridge QB, this guy who'll be snapping the ball to him is a bridge center.

Willis retired after a great career. Aldon Smith was on his way to a very good career before alcohol derailed it and now it looks as though he might now play another down in the NFL. Anthony Davis also retired. As you mentioned, both Iupati and Crabtree left as free agents.

Of course you have Balmer from 2008 and Jenkins from 2012 that were busts. Hoping the Reid, Ward and Armstead will have good a good 2017 season.

Borland was looking promising till he retired.
