My point was there are far better bracketologists out there than Lunardi.

Lunardi has us officially on the bubble now in his Last 4 In after beating Clemson and winning at BC last week.

Wtf? The only thing I can think of is that this is a ratings grab to get more teams "on the bubble"

Bracketmatrix has us as an 8 seed.

Bracketmatrix has us as an 8 seed.

He seems to be basing his seeding by using the BPI, which I think is just atrocious. Va. Tech is 50th in the BPI. Having said that Va. Tech's resume isn't all that great(it should be worth noting, I wouldn't have Va. Tech among the last 4 IN, I'd have them in a safer position). Just 3-6 against the top 50 definitely doesn't leave a lot of room for error. If Va. Tech goes 2-0 in the last 2 it won't matter what happens in the conference tournament. Going 1-1 they may need to avoid an opening round loss in the ACC Tournament to feel completely safe. I know I wouldn't be feeling great sitting at 21-10 with an RPI around 50, at that point it can go either way IMO.

Edit - Just saw that Lunardi has Va. Tech among his last 4 BYES. Not last 4 IN. Should be noted that's significant.

If UNC wins out this week, they could lock up a number 1 seed. I think Kansas is probably a lock at the number 1 overall seed regardless of how they do in the Big 12 tourney.

That's the issue with going by just 'Top 50' and 'Top 100' wins. VT has 4 more wins against teams between 51 and 63.

7-6 against the Top 63 is fine when you're >.500 in the ACC with 20 wins.

I agree. I generally don't like that as a cutoff either. Was just doing it for this exercise. I personally like to use wins against teams in the tournament and teams under "consideration". They have 3 wins over sure fire NCAA teams in Duke, UVA and UM. After that they have wins against cause and GT who are being considered and go either way. I wouldn't consider Clemson or Pitt to be in consideration at this point. I don't think both Cuse and GT get in. Odds are one will and one won't. Cause is probably that team. So if they lose to Miami and 1st round in ACCT they could be looking at a record of 4-8 record against teams in the field. I still think that gets them in unless they also lose to Wake. 1-2 should be fine.

I think they are pretty solidly in the field at the moment. 6-7 against teams in the field. Great Non Conf SoS.

Florida State still alive for a share of the regular season ACC Title. Can they win on the road is the big question. They enter tonight's game @ Duke with a 3-5 record in true road games. Obviously not the best place to go in and get a win but Duke is having a lot of issues. Any word on whether Grayson Allen or Jefferson are going to play Duke fans?

They are both game time decisions. My guess is both try and give it a go. Obviously would be huge for FSU if neither could play.
