This past weekend I went to see Hidden Figures at the movies with my family...awesome movie if you have not seen it yet...
If you don't know its about the beginnings of the space program in the 60's and how a West Virginia native and graduate of West Virginia State and West Virginia University had a huge part in the success...and the actress mentions West Virginia University proudly...I throw that in there because of how poorly WVU was portrayed in the movie THE EXPRESS. Instead of showing a racist state this movie gave you the message that WVU was a progressive University back in the day and the University of Virginia was a racist school..which it was...
So with that positive below is what I could find on line as the most famous Wv off all time...she did not make the top 63!..you will see that friggin Randy Moss made the list!! ARE U F#CKing kidding me!!..a drummer from GODSMACK?!?!?..Gilligan???..see below at the other crazy names... and some weren't even born in the state like Jay FRIGGIN ROCKEFELLER!!!
63 Most Famous West Virginians of All Time
I found this below after searching for awhile...and this is all they could come up with?!?!?...yet those in the know thought enough to make a MOVIE ABOUT IT!?!
Katherine Johnson (1918- ) was named a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015. She was employed by NASA, where she computed flight trajectories. She was born in White Sulphur Springs.
