And, I agree with you... SFA sucked. I don't care if they were a misplaced 7 seed. WVU still should have whipped that ass.

Why didn't Esa play in the 2nd half? Was Bobby saving the only guy who could make a basket that night for the next game?

Man... if it is Buffalo... we got to be hanging brother!!

I'll be coming down to DC for the Hokie game. Gonna try to get Slaton's lame ass to finally go to a game. This may happen if his recently installed pussy ain't causing him problems.

You read his shit on here? I don't even know him anymore....

Is this Slaton?

God how I laughed my ass off at this thread! Let's get something straight about SFA--they were not that good of a basketball team. We played like a school bus full of "mentally challenged" kids. WVU lost because SFA had the best player on the floor and he schooled them like nobody's business.
MIN FG 3FG FT OFF DEF REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
Walkup 37 6-15 2-3 19-20 4 5 9 4 4 1 2 3 33

We were not smart enough to adjust and make the other 4 bums beat us. Anymore questions? BB --when in the hell are you coming to DC and see me? You are gonna make me travel to Buffalo here in a couple of weeks aren't ya? I got a feeling that is where WVU is gonna be parked in the NCAA for the 1st 2 games anyway. At least that is what I am hearing out of Motown. Probably public knowledge too.

And finally...a voice of reason has spoken!!:suds:

Kansas played a hell of a game tonight...Oh that was Iowa State. I guess we should have been the 3rd seeded team in the Big 12 Tournament.

WVU was second in the league for the season, was seeded second in the tourney, and ended up second. Successful year so far, losing to IAST in BASKETBALL has no shame, WVU didn't play our best game tonight, IAST got hot at the right time, and we lost the game. Let's all cheer hard in the NCAAs.

I guess if you want to settle losing to #4 when you're seeded#2. I suppose you will settle losing in the first round again as long as that team is hot. Why weren't we hot? Did we peak to early?

I wondered at times this year if our team is TOO deep, that if no one player is in condition to go the difference, Carter and Adrian looked tired last night, our whole team on defense didn't look as quick as in previous games. IAST has a very talented team, have won the league tourney quite a few times. I hope that the kids get hungry after this loss and run deep into the NCAA.

Huggy has mismanaged this year's team. He wanted to continue Press Virginia, but he didn't have the depth at guard or at the 4 position to spell Carter and Adrian enough minutes throughout the season.

This year, Carter has averaged 32 min/gm... last year - 28. Adrian has averaged 30 min/gm this year... last year he played 18 sharing the duty of 4 with Holton who played 23 min/gm. This year, West has averaged 12 min/gm.

Anyone who has played the game knows the toll playing hard defense takes on your legs.

It should be no surprise that Huggy has been using the 1-3-1 down the stretch.

Too deep? yea, that's it. The team is too deep and that is why they lost. :L

Why would they be tired? Didn't I-State play the same amount of games during the season? Or is it because WVU has to press to generate more opportunities to possess the ball and score since they do not have true shooters on the team?

The loss vs Iowa State comes down to 3 reasons in my mind: 1) shooting 2) man to man defense & Turnovers. We didn't get the ball in spots to score more easily and when we is---we bricked it. Our man to man was pathetic. Burton schooled Adrian badly and the other 3 guards were able to make open shots and drive the ball past their man. Maybe the biggest dagger was turning the fucking ball over. Ahmad should never put the ball on the floor in traffic ----5 turnovers is unacceptable and a big reason for this loss. Will be interesting to see if this team has enough gas in the tank to beat Bucknell and Notre Dame. BB you better be ready to roll again! Getting the mountaineers back in your hometown buddy!

I think it comes down to one....you can't play press for three straight games without it having an effect on shooting ....

WVU shot pretty well against ISU. 52% from the field... 35% from the 3.

WVU's defense and TO's were the difference makers. I don't think the poor FT shooting helped them either. ISU made WVU pay for many of their TO's... especially in the first half. 10 WVU TO's were converted for 12 pts.

Esa has no business trying to handle the ball... especially if he has no left hand.
