I think it was very similar to his second year...although to his point, Harbs didn't reach the top 2 this year, so maybe he knows what he is talking about.
Both finished 10-3 in their first complete seasons. Helton had the stronger SOS playing teams like Bama. And SC finished 3 in the AP. I'm just bringing this up because I recall a wolverines fan quoting.Clay Aiken isn't in harbaughs league :dhd:

Enjoy it while it lasts. It's over on Sept 16.. time to ruin the weekend for the University of Spoiled Children. Bevo will have TheRobotBitch cleaning out his stall after that game..

Well maybe not, but it's Feb so screw it
Actually looking forward to that game. I think its going to be a great game. Home and home correct?

On paper, USC should win the game handily (like 17+ points).

Having said that, Texas has an all new coaching staff and USC will be their first real test (they open with Maryland and San Jose St.). You know those players are going to give everything they've got to try and get a "signature win" for their coaches.

Beating USC on the road would be huge for them.

I wouldnt count Texas out new coaching staff. And Their QB impressed me. The Sc spring game may be interesting.A lot of competition for key spots.

It is a home and home. I am not sure what to expect. Texas should have a solid OL, anchored by maybe the #1 LT in the nation. WR are very athletic. I am not sure who the QB will be.
DL is OK. A lot of young talent, but no idea if they will be ready for primetime. LBs are sick athletes, but they have struggled do LB things (get off blocks and read plays). CB should have 2 NFL athletes. 1 was in trouble all last year (Holton Hill) and was suspended/lost his job. No idea if he will be there. Safety is a question. I think it will get an athletic upgrade with 5 star Brandon Jones starting, but no idea if he is mentally ready. Texasperated has the potential to be a solid team, but potential isn't production. I think USC pulls away late, but the only result that would shock me is if Texas rolled USC

Interesting theory, but those same players laid down vs Kansas when Strong's job was on the line

Texas is a terrible ream to play if you are highly rated. Just no upside to playing a a bunch of underachievers with talent

I haven't been paying much attention, what has Harbaugh said lately that has kept Michigan in the top 10?

The Big 12 is such a joke now. Jesus. They had one school finish inside the top 25 in recruiting this year.

If you guys were still here, it would be like old times again.

Nebraska did the absolute correct thing in getting out of that conference. Oklahoma and Texas got what they wanted.

Nebraska is just now making more money from athletics, but more important, Nebraska has made way more money on the academic side than it ever would have by being associated with the Big 12.
