The Rose Bowl was a good game, but it was a game that (for me) lost some marks because of the lack of defense being played.

Right certainly wasn't a lot of defense being played, but that's what made it so entertaining, and probably why this writer had it at #2. I do also think the setting factored into the decision. There is nothing quite like a great Rose Bowl game.

Did you see those scores? Does the SEC even play defense anymore?

Top two were the best hands down. Been watching the Rose for years. I've never seen one that exciting.

Albeit it Damn near gave me a heart attack
First off, I'm pretty sure Texas' NC win over USC was the Rose Bowl, wasn't it?

From a purely B1G/PAC standpoint, I'd put OSU/ASU from 1997 ahead of this year's as well. This year's was two teams with multiple losses while the 1997 game was one unbeaten team and one 1-loss team, and came down to two amazing drives in the last couple minutes by both teams. Had ASU won, they likely would've won the national title that year.

USC/Penn State is the greatest rose bowl I remember watching. All I remember about that USC/Texas game .Was a hand off to jack daniels . And catching a massive hangover

Great two top 15 games have the Badgers in which they dominated the first half with ease and then let of the gas in the second half.

Game 1 would have been a great game had it meant nothing. Because the Championship was on the line made it easily the best ... I had money on Alabama, and I still enjoyed the game!!! One for the ages!!!
