How were they? and do you know if they distribute at all?

great. Now I have to go to Brix City when I have the chance. I forgot what the FW beer was until I got it, lol. I just thought it was some oak aged pale ale, I was surprised when that acidity hit my lips. Firestone's limited beers can be very hard to find in NJ, and that's the first time I've ever seen any of their sours.

That Magnify was just one of their many excellent IPAs. Kane probably has the best IPAs in NJ though.

Thanks. If a brewery distributes out of state, my local go to USUALLY can get it, so I'll put in a request tomorrow.

I'm drinking me some Hurricanes, watching the Cowboys-Vikings game. I like other beers too, but I'm settled on the high gravity beers on this occasion.

Rotating between the following 2 beers depending on the meal:

The Pumpkin Ale is tastier and has more body. Its generally the better beer of the two though the Christmas Ale having very little body makes it easy to drink with a heavier meal. The Pumpkin Ale is my 2nd favorite Schlafly behind the Kolsch.

I took a few weeks off from alcohol after the new year to help get my overall diet and workout regimine consistent. I picked up a bottle of Bulleit bourbon recently and I must say that it is my favorite thus far. While I typically drink Evan Williams black label since it's pretty good for the price, I wanted to try out Bulleit as I'm cutting back and plan to have a glass (neat) once or twice a week and never tried it before. More expensive than EW, but with the consumption per week being a lot less, the cost will be similar and experience more flavorful.

I'd like to try a few more bourbons on my wish list this year now that I'm going to be drinking less and can justify the extra expense of more expensive brands (to me, that would be $25-50 per fifth). Knobb Creek will probably be my next foray.

If you're looking to save money, I'd give Four Roses a try. Its usually really cheap and its almost on par (and some say its on par or better) than some of the higher shelf bourbons.

I do like Four Roses single barrel. On the suggestion of others, I tried the yellow label as a 'better' substitute to my regular Evan Williams black label, but I didn't see a need to switch. The single barrel is good, but I do like the Bulleit over it right now. May have to set up a taste test in the future, to include several offerings that I've been wanting to try and those I know I like to see which ones I really should buy for the money.

In other words, a scientific reason to get drunk on good bourbon.
