I need a topic on world hostory between 1869 and 2000

So I'm thinking about doing a sports topic. I need a person, event , or idea that impacted world history before 2000. Anything in sports that did? Was the 1994 winter olympics held in the US?

Typed too quick so I meant history not hostory.

This might be the easiest and stupidest question of all time. Your teacher gave you a free pass do the pre 2000s? You could go condoms but that's too easy. Go birth control. I think like 50-60 years ago it was approved for contraceptive use, either way, it's good material.

If she reports you you have an easy lawsuit. Ideally she bangs you (if she's hot), you get the lawsuit, and ultimately score a big one. The later should happen at this point. If you can't get laid at 16 we've lost all hope for you.

My personal suggestion would be a baseball tie in. There's a long body of literature that intersects with sport and society (good and bad) win or lose. Easiest write, at least for me it was. The obvious topic would be Jackie Robinson, but there are other odd tie ins you could use. For example, you could use the proliferation of baseball in the Caribbean or Japan as a part of a spiel before segwaying into a main point.

Good thinking but i would do the 72 Olympics with the Munich Massacre. 11 Israeli Olympians were taken hostage and eventually killed. Or like Dude said the 36 Olympics held in Germany with American Jesse Ownes winning 4 Gold medals in front of Hitler

I would just select the GOAT in Jim Thorpe. Dude was the best all around athlete ever.

A couple of interesting ones would be...K

The 1971 Ping Pong match between the U.S. and China. That was the first time since 1949 that Americans have been welcomed into Beijing. Helped open up communication between the two countries.

Of course you have the event that inspired the move Invictus with the 1995 South African rugby team and Nelson Mandela.

Maybe one of my favorites is the 1936 Olympic gold medal between a Jew and a German. Adolf Hitler was present and was hoping to show just how superior the Aryan race was to everybody else. So in comes this underdog Jewish man Karoly Karpati who took down the heavy favorite causing Hitler to get up and leave after watching his man go down in defeat.
