These games are lasting as long (if not longer) then most Yankees/Red Sox games.

The National Title game which did not go to OT took 4 hours and 8 minutes. That is insane

How would you correct this issue?

My first suggestion would be to cut out stopping the clock anytime there is a first down except for maybe in the last 2 minutes of the 1st and 2nd half. Thoughts?

Have commercials run through the kicker and take away tv timeouts.

The only time a game lasts too long is when it runs over into my teams kickoff.
Other than that, I'm ok most of the time.
Not sure how to shorten the games, but wouldn't that cut into TV revenue??? which pays the bills.

Less commercials, less TV timeouts, but that's what's paying for it to be aired.

Do away with play reviews. What's called stands, but people would lose their minds

There is no way unless you want to cut down on commercials and TV timeouts. Nothing about the game rules needs to change. They already tried to address it by running the clock after the ball is set after a play goes out of bounds, they need to not fuck with the rules any further than that. Stopping the clock to reset the chains makes sense, unlike stopping everything to make sure everyone knows there's two minutes left.

The NC game was great, at no point did I think 'gee it'd sure be great if we could wrap this up quicker.' Don't watch if it's taking too long for you.

The 30 minute half times. Only need 15 or so

Yeah agree with that. 15 at the max and 20 in the playoffs games. I think cutting out the stoppage of time between every first down would really solve most of the issues.

If that's the solution, your 'issues' aren't worth fixing.

47 first downs in the national title game. That mean the clock was stopped 47 times for nonsense. Length of game is cut down significantly without the stoppage for every single first down.

And the length of the game would be cut down if you got rid of nonsense TV timeouts, but that's not happening either. Stick with the NFL and all their wonderful rules of it bugs you. No reason to fuck with rules that make sense because you have an issue with how long a game ran.

Cutting down on the number of replays would be a good place to start (perhaps use the NFL model). Towards the end of the NCG, it seemed like the refs were reviewing everything, even the most obvious calls.

You would have a point if I was the only one who had an issue with it. I'm clearly not

Yea it was ridiculous. They were reviewing obvious calls that they had no business reviewing and on top of that the reviews took way too long for pretty clear calls. They took 1 minute+ on obvious calls.

Yep. Not only does it make the game longer, but it also disrupts the flow of the game.
