QB thoughts for the future, just thinking who played and didn’t play this year may tell us more about what the coaches think about our roster guys from practice and the little they did or did not play this year.
This years guys coming back we have three who played or could have:
Gage Shaffer
Max Bortenschlager
Piggy
And one who had to sit out in Caleb Henderson.
Then one commit for next year in Kasim Hill.

Gage Shaffer red shirted in 2015 and didn't play this year, so he has three years left but some said he would be a project as a Pro Style 6'7" 205 lb QB when he came. I think he would have been on the field if he had shown enough potential in practice with his red shirt already used up.

Max Bortenschlager, 6'3" 185 lbs PRO style low 3 Star QB at .8113 did play. I know the thought of "needs more time" but check the other freshmen that played else where with more success without more time. That's not me knocking Max, just wasn't the one game answer. And they certainly played him before Gage.

Piggy we all probably know better. Seems inaccurate as a passer and runs early under pressure. Then there is certainly the height issue. With his other skills I expect they will find a way to get him on the field though.

Some QBs just don't have the skill set to move to other positions like Cocerille to Full Back and then LB or like Piggy who probably has a lot of potential outside of QB. Thus transfers like Henderson when beaten out by someone else.

Caleb Henderson a NC transfer who had to sit out 2016. I think we have him in 2017 and 2018. He was a 4 Star out of HS that got beat out at NC but that is probably not as negative as it might be for some other positions. QB's moving to another school seems more normal when some one else gets the job, not much opportunity for many that aren't athletes with other potential skill sets.

Kasim Hill, 6'3" 215 lbs Pro style 4 Star from St. John's College HS in DC. He’s coming highly touted.

I think it could be Henderson next year and Kasim Hill the longer term answer with that quick look. Max would be in the mix if he develops in the spring and summer in ways we probably wont see more than rumors.

Forgot about incoming 3 Star Ryan Brand, not sure how he fits.
