His old boss Bill Simmons poached him to cover wrestling for The Ringer.

On one hand, that's great because ESPN was badly misusing him since they axed Grantland. He's a fantastic writer and they rarely had him do columns. On the other though is, Cheap Heat will never be the same. Rosenberg says they'll continue on for now (him and Greg) but the three of them had great chemistry and made for an awesome podcast. It was easily the best wrestling podcast around

Just an FYI for any fans...
Shoemaker debuted his new podcast this week on Simmons channel. I loved it. He probably learned a ton about broadcasting working with Rosenberg for that long.. His podcast game is still on point. He had a guest co-host, standup comedian.. It wasn't cheap heat level chemistry yet but I'm listening every week.
The espn cheap heat for me isn't the same for me

It was a good first outing but you can tell how he leaned on Rosenberg to keep things moving. It got a little long in parts. Being a radio pro, Rosenberg is great at cutting off convos so they don't drag out to keep things moving. It was just the first show and I'm sure he'll get better at that as he finds his footing.

I still think Cheap Heat has been pretty darn good. Its not the same of course but it didn't drop off near as much as I expected. They're still finding their new groove as well. Hopefully Greg gets more comfortable and starts speaking up more. At times, it feels like its just Rosenberg and guest with Greg still there to chime in with facts

I was flipping between the Preshow and the football game. Rosenberg fit in well. Hopefully he's a regular on the Network
