dude on craigslist is selling a Prince ball machine for $300 (originally $1000) and I am a little tempted to get it.

I really don't need it though.

Good deal though. I would be too lazy to load in the car before I go to the courts.

Why can't I find an official website for the iSAM ball machines?

This is the only thing I can find?

it's just a local thing run by some guy in the area. He uses Tennisrungs.com, but I don't think there is a way to find local ladders on there.

Do you know if there is a local tennis association where you live?

I still need to look into this at some point. Thanks for the help. I'll update this thread once I have more information.

You forgot again didnt you?

:)

New Balance 621.

I can't find it online anymore, but I see this New Balance 624 on Amazon, which looks similar.

I tried posting the link to the 624 but Xenforo is trying to convert to a special "Amazon" media tag, and it is messing it up.

Ok, here is the 621:

They're wide, so I like them. :) I almost always have a hard time with shoes, having to try on several pairs of any style (casual, semi casual, etc.) Most don't fit that well.

Thanks. I will have a look.

Same here. And wider shoes tend to be heavier which is a problem for me as well as I am not very big so and extra few ounces slows me down pretty good.

I played a 26 yr old kid last night. Total pusher. He didn't beat me, but I beat myself. I was even up 5-4 in the first and lost 7-5. I just couldn't close the door and all he kept doing is blooping the ball deep into the court. What a frustrating match. I was serving well and my groundstrokes were on, but he just chased every fucking ball down. I hate pushers.

Need to play inside the baseline. Hit swinging volleys if necessary and get to the net eventually. Hitting the ball harder is just going to increase your errors. You need to take time away from them with high percentage play. You can also hit short balls to bring him up and then your next groundy he will have to go backwards for. You should get some short balls off that you can put away at the service line with volleys and overheads.

I attempted that. Maybe my approach shots weren't good enough, but he would get them back with an easy lob. I am not great at overheards, but I had some opportunities. I think I should have made more attempts at this strategy. Maybe on the rematch.

Its easier for me to say. I am an All-court player. Those guys are easier for me to beat because they really cant hurt me with anything and there are multiple ways to hurt them.

Tough for baseliners though. It makes you realize that even though you are a baseliner you need to get a little better at those other skills. Not great, but better.

Keep working at it.

I plan on it. I can definitely say my play at the net is weaker than my baseline. What felt good about playing a pusher is it gave me a chance to really work on my backhand. I was putting the ball exactly where I wanted to and had a couple really good approaches where I could put the ball away. I just need to do more of that. I love the challenge.

I do to. Get to the net and make him know you are there, which will put more pressure on him

My father-in-law is a pusher, and that's what I have to do...for some reason when I go to the net, the idea of his 'blooping' becoming a 'volley' changes how he does it, and leads to him hitting it out.
