That's great...I've haven't seen 82 since late JUN...this 104-105 heat index has my game on lock down.

This summer has been a lot worse than LY.

I ebayed my three Nike woods individually back in February. I always used a stiff shaft for graphite so that's what I bought. Since I couldn't hit the 3 wood for shit and since I was doing so well with my regular flex irons, I decided to replace the 3 wood with a reg flex version. What a difference so that got me replacing the whole set. Just last week I got the driver. Used it for 10 drives on Friday and hit 8 fairways.

The great thing about used clubs on ebay is that all 6 of them cost less than $400.

I'm gonna stick with it. I'm all about swinging correctly instead of hard and they seem to be the ticket. I'm also not in my thirties anymore but I've never played as well as I am right now. In my league matches, I've been under 40 for the past two months.

Cooler weather, that hurricane brought some really nice weather to North GA. A slight change in ball position with my driver, and I'm back to some decent scores.

Played twice over the Labor Day weekend...41-40 on Sat in the big skins group...rare that par wins a skin, but 2 birdies and a par yielded $90...plus my $10, $10, $10 front back overall stroke wager with my buddy...$120 total....free golf and free dinner and suds!

Same buddy anxious to win his money back calls me Monday 45 mins before the damn tee time...right out of the trunk...41 again on a harder track, but got him him by 2...turn to the back, par, par, then a freakin +5 9...he makes par, all of of sudden I'm down 3...he stripes the FW on 13, I push my 3w into the hazard...he's smelling blood in the water...take my drop, and stuck a 7i to 3' and made the par putt to tie him on the hole...he was stunned...14-15-16- all pars, bogey on 17, par on 18 for 42 to his 44...that won the back and 83 took the overall...$10, $10, $10 again...he was pissed......we'll see if he calls for this week.

He didn't play the following week, actually I didn't either...he called me on last Friday night about 8 to play last week...he knows I normally make tee times at work on Thurs or Fri...so I was in another group...this week and next he's going to be out of town...I talk to him today, and I asked, you're not dodging me are you? Hell No! he says.

All I know is it'll be OCT before I see him on the course again!

Played probably my last 9 hole round of the year yesterday. Hunting and firewood will take all my time from here on but what was remarkable was my friend Phil's play.

He birdied the 1st hole, the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th!!!

Then he went bogey, bogey, double.....yikes....and on the 9th, his birdie putt was dead center a half a turn from the lip. He almost got it back to 2 under but ended up with a -1 34.

Not a bad score but too bad he couldn't have held that score down.

Helluva 9 hole score!...even 36 has been my 9 hole low, 77 for 18.

50s in the morning 70s in the afternoon for the next few weeks.

The beauty of the south...October is ideal golf weather!

Bent greens have recovered from the heat stress and the bermuda greens are still rolling smooth...the only bad part is the bermuda rough is thinning out so the ball drops straight to the bottom.

Playing a Davis Love track tomorrow...should be fun.

Played SAT...one of those rounds that you look back at a stroke here or a stroke there that got away...for me...missed a 3 footer for par straight up hill, pushed it somehow, and 3 putted from 20'...that turned a very good round into just a good round.

Weather changing this week, hi 40s/low 50s in the morning, highs still above normal (low 70s, normally mid 60s) into the weekend so I'll try to get back on the horse again this week.

Almost set temperature records last weekend in the land of cheese so had to take advantage of that.

Shot a 90 with 40 putts!!!

Hopefully will get out one more time this weekend then whitetailing and holiday shit will kick in

the greens were just aerated and heavily sanded but will not make excuses

I have a fundamental glitch in my stroke where I am consistently underneath the hole

3 putt from 7 feet should never happen, should it??

Well no, but sanded greens I would be making excuses from the 1st hole...hell, we normally give 5 footers on punched and sanded greens. FWIW, greens are normally outstanding this time of yr down here.

My thing is I get wimpy sometimes on shortish putts inside and either push it or pull it....outside 6'...I get it past the hole almost everytime...except that 3 jack from 20'...fooled..thought I was downhill, and it was to start, but uphill the last 6' or so...should've looked at it from the other side of the hole....duh!

I'm not quite ready to store'em, but it's about 28 deg out there today and might not get much above 40...no golf this weekend for sure. But Mon/Tues the high is supposed to be in the 60s...if that holds until next Sat...I'll get another one in before I head to St. Croix for Xmas/New Yr...only 2 tracks down there, funny the one on the water is not the best track, but I'll take a stab at both of them.

Are you using ship sticks or taking on the plane?

I've never used ship sticks and was thinking about it for my upcoming trip...but it's a direct flight so I might just pay Delta.
