Fitzpatrick threw six picks for the Jets today. As much as the focus of next week's game will be on the Seahawks offense against New York's D, I think the Seahawks defense might have a chance to add to their turnover totals after finally getting on the board there this week.

And guess which guy was playing someone starting Fitzpatrick in his work pool

This guy. I got reason to brag. 1-2 bay bay

You don't X-O Jimmy Graham. You realize what he brings to the table and then X-O around it. And he's the anti-Harvin. Shit luck since he's been here and all he wants is the opportunity to make a play. Feed him.

They 'fed him' constantly last season, and that's WHY the offence bogged down. Because they were trying too hard to 'feed' him, and not just letting things happen in the flow of the offence.

The offence took off last year when he got hurt. Why? Not because he sucks, but because they stopped trying to 'feed' one guy the fvcking ball. Which incidentally, is what happened when they tried to 'feed' Harvin the ball too.

Great game... Nice to see the OL do a better job today... RW had two awful plays consecutively leading up to his injury... First play, takes a 11 yard sack... That was on him... He had 4 seconds before the rush got there... Secondly, we've all acknowledged, why in the helk didn't he just throw the ball away instead of deciding to try and stiff arm a LB.

All in all, wish we would've fired Cable this week so we didn't have the opportunity to see a successful running game...

They didn't "feed him" where he needed to be fed. We don't throw over the middle because Pete doesn't want to risk a tipped ball and a pick. That's what our defense feeds off of. Maybe Pete should have some faith in the guys on O to go ahead and pull it down instead of this risk averse shit like he's playing a chess match. He's done that with Fisher (who's a fucking mediocre coach) and always gets the worst end of it. Let the players play.

And I agree with you, and believe it or not, I firmly believe Pete is agreeing with you too. They're taking the wraps OFF Wilson and letting him run the show. But it's been a process, and one where they didn't fully trust him until the last half of last season to do that.

Having said that, they're ALSO going to be re-building the O-line for another season or two. It looks like the interior is set up nicely (assuming Ifedi isn't injury prone), but it's going to take a while for them to plug rookies into those tackle spots.

Everything is a PROCESS. We get (health allowing) anothe 10 - 12 years of watching Wilson be a top shelf QB in the NFL. But despite the early success, he STILL wasn't equipped to be Brees or Rogers right out of the gate. Just as Roethlesberger was limited in his reads for the first years of his career.

So yes, Pete is going to morph into a more open minded coach BECAUSE of Wilson's development. But let's be honest. You say he has to have faith in the O. Sure, but having faith in the D, won the Hawks their first ever Lombardi.

It's not like his 'philosophy' hasn't worked.

Is it going to change? Sure, because Wilson is going to force that change.

Sadly the line play in the first couple of games (and an awkward tackle in this one) has Wilson not at 100%

Be patient. Another 10-12 years. Remember that.

And I'm too lazy to go searching, but having posted this, you BETTER have been on the 'defend' Bevell side after the Superbowl...

Heh! I hope everyone is taking notes of their early season comments if we go on to win the SB. As a side note, I'm truly saddened to hear General Arnold Palmer passed away today, I was part of his Army and Golf would not be what it is today without him.

He invented the modern golfer as far as how to present yourself. His approach was unreal as well.

That's a strong man going after a small white ball with everything he can with no wasted motion.

Sorry, my comcast was down. This is the play calling is the play calling we should see, which is hitting guys between the fucking hashmarks, especially Jimmy Graham. I have no problems with what I saw today. We could have been seeing the same fucking shit last week because the Rams were begging us to hit Graham in these spots. But we didn't. Hopefully we've pulled our heads out of our asses and realize that we don't need to grind the shit out when we can bum-rush teams with our offense.
Are you anti, run 1st? Is that your point?

Bennett gets COMPLETELY owned and the 49ers score a TD.
The guy was so much stronger than Bennett that he actually picked his ass up LMAO!
No break on a throw like that... He looked right at the 49r he was throwing it too... He's gotta make better decisions than that...
Russ had a couple of turkeys today that could have been intercepted. Part about being human is that we make mistakes.

I'm guessing after they fire Bevell they should release Bennett too huh? :rolleyes2:
For sure. And you do know that Bevell runs what Pete wants to do on offense? So, that Pete guy better go too. Biggest problems though are both huge. Any NFL GM that lets a guy like Pete run the team has to go as well as well as the owner that would allow a GM to employ a guy like Pete...has got to go.
I demand this happens, like tomorrow.

Team did everything they set out to do. Got the running game going. Got Graham involved which puts the rest of the D's they will face on notice. Moved the ball at will most of the day. Defense was stout until the game was well in hand.

Outside of Wilson's scare on his knee, there's not much even the most negative hawks fan can bitch about.
You are wayyyyyy to confident.

No, I'm anti-don't throw it between the hash marks because it's just too darn risky. I'm anti don't throw a slant when we picked up a guy who made a living off of it in NO. That's what I'm anti. This whole "it's either a completion or it's out of bounds" sideline crap (which is basically what we see most of the time) is a load of crap.

That was weak defense on the last 2 possessions....

Every QB is gonna make some mistakes... That one was pretty bad though because he threw it RIGHT to the defender, looked him down the entire time... It was like, "thank you very much" by the defender... He's made other throws like that in the pre-season... It seriously looked like he was attempting to throw an interception not compete a pass... lol He's gotta stop doing that

So can someone summarize the game for me? I had to fly to Dallas for a business meeting and unfortunately our plane got delayed an hour and then American Airlines (who sucks btw) checked my bag at the gate despite it fitting in the overhead.... apparently by bordering group 2 their bins were already full (THE FUCK!?)

Anyway, saw Michael had a good game and Graham/Baldwin dominated. How did Wilson look mobility wise? Did Ifedi start? Looks like San Fran got some late garbage points, whatever.

Was this more a case of Seattle being pissed on offense and San Fran being terrible? I know they walloped the Rams but the Rams suck against everyone except us.

Pete wants to run a ball control offense that is reliant on the run game. He abhors TO's. Generally, it is my opinion that Pete prefers to play conservatively to limit TO's.

Yeah, that play where he stared Baldwin down for almost 3 or 4 seconds resulting in a completion I told my father in law, that's going to eventually nip him in the butt... He's not accurate, he's a rookie... Still not confident w/ him as our backup, especially in a close game... He only threw 2 good passes...

I'm on pain pills (kidney stone) so if I saw a different game than the others, please excuse me.
Outstanding game by the Hawks. All three departments.
Running game was highly productive. CM laid it down real good. 2 TDs and over a hundred yards.Collins ran a few, nothing great but was safe and decent.
Russ played a real good game. Threw a couple of bad throws but our WR's play good D.
OL was very good in most areas of run and pass pro.
Too many penalties on O.
Jimmy G had a great game as did Baldwin.
D played very well but gave up a TD in Garbage T. Earl was unimpressive. Shead the LB's, most of the DL, and Kam had a great game.
ST's were top 5 today.
