I can't recall a New England fan or a Boston fan or a Duke fan ever walking away from a chance to stir the pot. Now that I see a single fan of all three taking the high road.....No wonder Hammer sold out and ran.

Eh, with this "issue" there really wasn't a need too. I mean I'm sure it's been beaten to death

Pitt should definitely be the most competitive game.

Agreed, Michael Young and Jamel Artis are going to be a pretty good one-two punch for Pitt this year. Pitt will be pretty experienced in 2016/17, while Wake will still be pretty young.

I do have Wake winning 7 or 8 games in the ACC this year, though.

VT just landed three NC kids from the class of 2019. Will be interested to see how they develop over the next three years.

Wow....2019 already. It'll be interesting to see if they keep the commitment.

Georgetown I wouldn't include on that list. They made a final 4 in the past 10 years, and while they have underachieved in the tourney have gotten some high seeds.

St. Johns downfall goes with the downfall of NYC basketball. Recruits no longer feel loyalty to stay in NYC and even worse, NYC players aren't that great to begin with anymore.

But by and large, success at schools is based off of one coach and then when that coach leaves, it's questionable whether your program will ever be good again.

That's what make college ball a scary sport to follow as a fan. Your team could foreseeably be mediocre for the rest of your life, save a good season or two. Most pro teams at least muster a run every 10 years or so.

Yeah, I also disagree with Georgetown's inclusion. They've been a pretty consistent NCAA Tournament team under JT III. The biggest criticism about JT III is his lack of Tournament success since the 2007 FF, but eh, the NCAA Tournament is the biggest crapshoot in sports. Shit happens.

I also disagree that the ACC is harder now than it was in 1994 or 2004, when Odom and Prosser were roaming the sidelines for Wake. It isn't harder. There's more bottom feeders now than there was during those years.

NOTE: The ACC was really down from 2006 to 2013. Don't confuse that league with the ACC of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s.

Also agree about the decline of NYC Basketball.

UNC received a comment from low 4*/high 3* Brandon Huffman.

Also, it really seems that KU is trying their best to get a commitment from Chaundee Brown before he visits Wake this weekend.

No mention of Top 100, 4* Wabissa Bede, Cushing Academy, Point Guard committing to the Hokies?

Buzz starting to make some noise unheard of in Blacksburg on the recruiting trail. 247 has our class (Bede and Nickeil Alexander-Walker) at #20, seen it as high as #7

Sorry I've been slacking haha

Wake landed Chaundee Brown today. #30 ranked recruit in the country and right outside of five star status

.

Agreed and am very concerned about SU when Coach JB retires. SU has pretty much promised the HC job to the current assistant, Mike Hopkins. But I'm not convinced he's HC material. If he doesn't work out, hopefully ex players like Melo and Coleman have enough star power and connections to get a quality coach to come to Central NY.

Another tough break for that kid. He just needs to get healthy for the draft at this point.

Next coaching hire will be important for SU. Just don't pull a Bzdelik, and you should be fine.

Tough to judge Hopkins at this point, for me as an outsider. That tough stretch last year for SU when Hopkins was the interim HC, there was a lot of turmoil. Just really weird.

It weighs on me a bit. Even UNC had issues after Coach Smith left and they are loaded with alumn in the NBA. Like Jones said, teams that go through coaches struggle.

Trust me, I know.

Wake Forest was very fortunate that the transition from Dave Odom to Skip Prosser went as well as it did. Odom recruited great at the end of his tenure, and Prosser came in and continued that recruiting momentum.

However, Wake Forest was very unfortunate when it came to the transition from Dino Gaudio to Jeff Bzdelik. Went as terribly as it could have. Most of it stemmed from the fact that Bzdelik was a shit coach.

The more coaching hires you are forced to make, the odds increase that you're going to end up with a shit coach.

UNC's troubles post-Dean Smith, were because they were obsessed on hiring someone with major UNC ties.

Gut was Dean's successor due to his loyalty to the university.
He was there for three years and went to two Final Four's.

They whiffed on Roy in 2000, had drama with Larry Brown and hired Matt Doherty. Doherty at the time had one year of head coaching experience. Just a bad hire, due to UNC wanting to prove that everything was about the UNC "family".

Think PJ Washington visited UNC over the weekend. Washington is a consensus 5*.

Buzz Williams has put together a good recruiting class, so far for VT. 1 Top 40 recruit, and an additional Top 75 recruit.

Clemson is also putting together a good recruiting class. 2 players ranked in the top 125. Have a third commit that is also a Top 150 type of guy.
