For the most part we bring back a good offense, hopefully our receivers will be better at catching the ball and we need the offensive line to improve, if so we have a very explosive offense.

The defense loses some key guys so it may not be as strong, hopefully the change in our secondary coach will allow us to not give up as many big plays next year, when our defense didn't give up big plays it actually was very good.

Overall it would be nice to only lose one game next year, and not have it be to any team from Utah, or perhaps finally defend well against the triple option.

Hopefully we can win the Mountain West and play a big name school in the Las Vegas bowl, we're kind of screwed in terms of the New Year's 6 with how good Houston is going to be next year, they have the best non-power 5 team since us and TCU's old teams a few years back. If we go undefeated maybe there's a shot we get in the Fiesta bowl, we did get an At-Large there before in 2009, so there's a chance!

Our schedule doesn't feature a headliner team like usual

but we do have two Pac-12 opponents in Oregon State and most notably what should be a pretty good Washington State team. We also have our usual BYU game, and I would really love to beat those Mormons this year.

Our other non-conference game is the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, they had been on top of the Sun Belt for a while, but had a rough year this past year.

Last 3 years and I don't even know what to expect. Can't pin it on Harsin yet, but last years team clearly under performed. We don't get dialed in on the option next year and shit gonna hit the fan.

This year will certainly go a long ways towards determining it

I liked the young hires we made at the coordinator positions and Harsin is taking the play-calling duties which was an area that I felt hurt us last year, our play-calling was bad at times.

Hopefully the staff shakeup is what we needed to get better. We definitely have to get better against the option and in general stop giving up big plays, you look at our defense they dominated when they didn't give away big plays.

Guys, we got a road game to Hawaii next year and only 12 games slated. Is there a big name team with an opening next year for a 13th game? I think we could schedule one if available with the trip to Hawaii. Again, next year we draw a week MWC schedule with no SDSU, Fresno State or Nevada. Gonna look at it.

We have 3 solid non-conference games

it would be nice if we could convince North Carolina to drop one of its two FCS opponents and play them

that is absolutely pathetic, they play two FCS opponents two years in a row

They play James Madison on the 17th,

we most likely have an opening then, make it happen

UNC would be a great match up! It is sad to see the weak schedules of some of these teams. It will take one of them getting burned and blamed specifically for the weak OOC before some of them wise up.

So the coaches were on the radio the other day talking about what a great competition it's going to be for the starting QB job. They said Finley was looking great. Am I missing something here??? Finley and Great don't belong in the same sentence. :L

Liked the info, not the news.....this is crazy if true. That is unless Finley finally completed a vertical pass over 10 yards to an offensive player.

I could not believe what I was hearing. As a fan, Rip is our QB for the next 3 years.

I grew up in Spokane and graduated with Mark from Shadle Park in 1981. I have known Mark and Tim since grade school. Both where exceptional athletes and great dudes as well. I don't use Facebook much, but the last time was talking to Tim when Brett committed.

Claim to fame and only thing I beat Mark at was in the 6th Grade All City Free Throw Contest.

Hopefully they're just trying to keep Brett Rypien motivated

This sounds a lot like when we had Kellen Moore and the coaches raved about Joe Southwick

I agree. It's a motivational tactic to push Rypien. I was so disappointed when they announced Finley as the starter last year. He seems like a nice kid, but truthfully he's just not very good at all. I guess the plan was to initially redshirt Ryp. It worked out how it worked out. I love watching the kid play. Damn. What a baller he is.

Rypien will be absolutely fun to watch for these next two, maybe three years.

It's getting near time for my predictions, and I'm reading up looking at schedules getting an idea of what to expect this year

and of course we're the first team I think of

and honestly....I still don't know what to expect

Rypien and McNichols are back and we are very talented

but will we be the same team week in and week out?

We haven't don't that in a few years, but wow does our team give us some performances to make us optimistic, because sometimes everything hits and we destroy our opponents, other times our offense loses it's mind and gives the ball away a ton, and we are completely incapable of stopping the option attacks of Air Force and New Mexico.

One thing that I really didn't figure until reading the hype just recently is how much cred SDSU is getting preseason. This is a great thing as many are saying they could go undefeated. What a boost that would be if even with 1 loss they are ranked and we meet them in the MWC Championship. :thumb:

They do bring a lot back, but still have the same issues as always where they have no passing game and can't play worth a crap to start the year.

Shit BSF27, nice to know this about the passing game now, just drafted their QB last night in my fantasy league last night with like a 7th round pick. :L

LOL!! Ouch, they haven't had a serviceable QB since Ryan Lindley was there. I remember after he left some QB opened the following season throwing like 8 picks in the first two games, the opener was against a FCS team, good times.
