Finally!!!

For Bronco fans there are two seasons - football season - and waiting for football season.

Football season is finally upon us.

Thanks to all of you for helping me through waiting for football season.

Note to Springstein - you can use this thread to discuss training camp battles - under valued players and guys moving up from lower spots on the depth chart (and leave the thread about New Broncos to stick to that theme).

I can never tell if your thread killers are some kind of pathological and subterranean plot against me, or just the normal dose of hillbilly bungling that magically propels you forward. ;)

Not sure if this is training news or just repetition of annual news, but Anunike placed on the PUP list.

I saw that. I'm honestly surprised as he has been posting work out videos of himself and man he does not look like he is hurt at all. I'm wondering if this is the team realizing they have too much depth at the DL position and hoping to maybe store him for the first part of the year in the hopes that if there is an injury he can step in instead of losing him when we start cut downs.

I keep forgetting that the PUP during training camp and pre season doesn't mean much since you can be activated at any point so maybe they are just giving him an extra week or so. Still I will take us only putting one player on the PUP as I look around the league at teams like the Patriots and Packers who have a very long list of PUP players.

Very excited for camp really officially kicking off tomorrow. I'll try to type up any notes that I see along the way. I can't sit at a computer very long right now as fell off a climbing wall this past week and well lets just say my ribs are none too happy about it and have been trying to get treatments to actually get them all back where they belong. Anyway some notes from just this past week...

Looks like most of our guys will be a go for the start of camp. From what I understand they are still a bit up in the air of whether to PUP Talib or not but either way it shows he is pretty close to being a full go again. Also big news would be that all of our OL guys are ready to participate considering Sambrailo and Okung were mostly just sideline observers that will be huge to get the starting 5 going together quick.

Also injury front looks like Booker is ready to go as well and Gotsis will be practicing as well. Both of those guys are expected to be a bit limited to start camp but should get going full go pretty quickly.

One nice thing to read was how many of the rookies really latched on to some of the veterans during this down time to pick their brains about football and just watch how they operate as professionals. Also good to see the veterans willing to take the guys brought in to take their job and really mentor these young guys.

Great article if you get the chance to read on Von Miller and just the unique personality that he has. I'll try to remember to post it at the end of this post. Anyway at least if I read it right he did say that come the playoffs he shut down his social media and focused a bit more on football and well we obviously saw the fruits of that decision. He talked about how he might actually try to do that for the entire year instead of just the playoffs.

Sounds like Kubiak is most worried about one position and it isn't the QB. It is the TE position as he said in a recent interview that the #1 and #2 TE at this point on the team have hardly even practiced during the off season so they haven't had the chance to even see what they have at the position. Going to be important for those guys to stay healthy and really build great chemistry with the OL.

CJ Anderson showed up to camp this week weighing 217 lbs. This is huge considering I think last year he showed up around 230 if not more and the year before that showed up weighing 240 lbs. So he definitely took this off season serious in staying in shape. Kubiak told him that the offense this year could live and die by Anderson showing up in shape and staying healthy. So far one of those is checked off.

Here is the article I promised. Definitely worth the read as not sure there is another guy in the league quite like Von Miller and just awesome to see the type of leader he is trying to become on this team of really watching how other players are responding body language wise and knowing when he needs to step in to lift them back up.

Broncos have signed Marlon Brown a WR that played for Kubiak in Baltimore. Just more competition at an already very deep position.

D. Ware and Talib will start on the NFI list and will keep being evaluated and brought along slowly.

All 3 QB's are going to get equal reps to start the training camp.

Elway did speak to Von Miller yesterday for the first time since the signing of the contract and said both of them are on the same page.

Broncos are still in talks with Sanders' agent trying to get a deal done.

Kubiak seems most excited about the OL and the group we have this year compared to last year.

Okung staying healthy for 16 games is key otherwise musical chairs again in the Oline.
Worried about Ty who had a similar injury in college as last year.

Health will definitely be huge for the OL. We in my opinion had 2 problems on the OL last year...

1) Health--Obviously losing our starting LT, then his back up/starting RT meaning we had our 3rd string LT and RT in was not a great way to start out early in the year. Then you add in it has come out that Vasquez and Mathis were both hurt pretty badly last year and why the team had to go to a rotation based system to give them rest it shows injuries really made developing any kind of decent OL play very difficult.

2) System--We running wise were still trying to run a lot of Kubiak's plays but with Manning being in shot gun/pistol where it threw off any kind of timing and made the OL have to hold their guy that much longer. When you throw in the back side DE/LB had no fear of Manning getting to the edge it just made the OL blocking that much more difficult.

So at least right now we have all 5 starters looking like they are healthy. Have to see if that remains the case. Even if it doesn't I will say I like our depth better this year than last year. We now have 3 guys on the team with LT starting experience. We have 3 guys on the team with starting RT experience in the NFL. We have some depth on the interior of guys that have played both Center and Guard. So depth wise if a guy goes down I think our OL can handle that. Now having 4 guys with injuries like last year not sure any team has the depth to handle that.

The #Broncos are signing former #Ravens WR Marlon Brown to a 1-year deal, @UniSportsMgmt tells me. Gary Kubiak coached him in Baltimore.

Went with 6 last year. Maybe this has more to do with trying to get reps for 3 QBs.

For those wondering the Individual Ticket Sales for home games happens tomorrow. They usually go ridiculously quick so have to be ready right when they go on sale if you want them.

Marlon Brown is listed at 6'5" 220 ... any chance he'll get a look at a spot more suited to TE ??

We are loaded at WR
