In ESPN league, added Bregman and Bientendi. Bregman appears on the way up. Bientendi is up in the air. Either way Bientendi is a keeper option.

I pulled the plug on Cris Carter. I cannot deal with his streakiness and lately he hasn't made a impact even at home. I also dropped Upton Jr.

That's not what I read. Rotowire said he would come up when Valbuena cools down. What cuban 32 year old?

And why is my league not listing Gourriel in FA? I see that's who you were talking about and quickly figured that out.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch said that the team does not plan on calling up 3B/SS prospect Alex Bregman this weekend.:suds:
ESPN's Jim Bowden reported on Tuesday that the Astros were "expected" to call up Bregman. That won't be the case unless Hinch and the team do an about face. Hinch wouldn't rule out a call to the bigs for later this season, though. The 22-year-old infield prospect is 14-for-36 (.389) in eight games at Triple-A Fresno since earning a promotion from Double-A. Eight of those 14 hits have either been homers or doubles. Prior to the season, Bregman ranked as MLB.com's No. 22 overall prospect.

They have it both ways. I read the last name carefully. ESPN is the one calling him Gurriel

....and CBS and Fantrax...

Not CBS just googled Gurriel and got Gourriel. Also, his parents names are Gourriel.

Man... I was responding to why you couldn't find him in fantasy leagues! Not talking about his parents.

He's finally there. On waivers though and I'm 10 of 12. Not good. And ESPN is going by Gurriel even there.

Heard they were thinking about three weeks in Corpus Christi (AA). That would put him around a mid August debut.

I think the hype will be more than the results.

According to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, Yulieski Gurriel may not make his major league debut until mid-August.
Gurriel is expected to begin his Astros tenure with Double-A Corpus Christi, where he should see about three weeks worth of at-bats. Apparently Gurriel is also waiting to receive his work visa, which could push back his debut even further. If that timeline holds, top prospect Alex Bregman will likely reach the majors before Gurriel.:suds:

Bientendi is a worthy keeper, just not sure when he will be called up, unless there is an injury so late 2017, 2018 he will be playing in Boston. If he is used as trade bait to get another starter.

HOWEVER:

Carson Fullmer pitched for the White Sox Sunday. Why should you care?

Well, Fulmer was taken exactly one spot behind where the Red Sox selected Andrew Benintendi in the 2015 draft. This doesn’t mean by any means the Sox outfield prospect should immediately be rushed to the majors to keep pace, but it is another reminder that Benintendi’s time might not be far away.

Right now, Benintendi is doing his thing in Double-A Portland. After a slow start, he has seen his batting average and OPS climb to .277 and .819, respectively. Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski already suggested last month every aspect of the 22-year-old’s game is major league ready with the exception of his offense.

And now, with the jump in offensive acumen, the front office’s acceptance for Benintendi to help at the major league level might be growing.

“He’s making steady progress in Double-A,” said Red Sox general manager Mike Hazen. ” The consistency of his at-bats day in and day out have gotten better and better and better. There’s usually a transition to every level. Again, that’s why you’re not banking on that performance. You’re not counting on offensive performance, but you’re hoping they can do those other things.”

As we sit here, there wouldn’t seem to be an overriding need for outfield help at the major league level, particularly with Brock Holt coming back to serve as the left-handed-hitting complement in left field. And it appears as though Blake Swihart might be on the verge of making some rehab assignment appearances while returning from his ankle injury.

The case for Benintendi being called upon to contribute during the pennant drive (and possibly beyond) hinges on injuries to Holt and/or Swihart, or one of the infielders, which would necessitate Holt moving into more of a utility role. Or perhaps the production at the position from the left side dips so dramatically, like it did when the doors opened for Ellsbury and Bogaerts, Benintendi is deemed the club’s best option.

The case for Andrew Benintendi, Yoan Moncada playing October baseball

He was one of the most added according to Rotogrinders. They are assuming he will be up because of Holt's struggling.

I cancelled my claim. I was gonna let Reynolds go but not for waiting. I did add Alvarez but can only play him against righties.

And I ended up putting right back in for him.....over Alvarez and actually got him. Also, I didn't want to do it but dropped Eickhoff for Cutbert, and for the first time I won BA(still lost) in nearly two months. Eickhoff was not gonna be a keeper and my chances are already done.
