A very solid effort from team USA in this tourney, but lots more work to do.

English bookies saw a huge surge of betting that Klins was going to accept the Southhampton job after the Copa is over. I hope not.

Much better effort this time around vs Colombia. Bummer we couldn't get a goal though. Had some painstakingly close ones that just bounced off and also had several other opportunities in the box where guys just hesitated too much. Would have liked to see Pulisic and Nagbe come in earlier, especially Pulisic. He created some great chances even with his limited time. With an extra 10 minutes or so, who knows? Maybe we get a goal. Whatevs. 4th is a great showing for this tournament. They looked much better than the shitty play we saw in the Gold Cup last year and some of the qualifiers. Hopefully Jurgen has finally settled on that back line with Brooks and Co.

Excluding the inexcusable performance in the Gold Cup last year, the US rarely loses to teams that is not clearly better than us. In the World Cup we were defeated by Germany and Belgium while in this tourney we were defeated by Argentina and Columbia 3X. No shame in losing to those teams.

I hope Jurgen keeps it up and we do well in 2018. The concern will be who replaces him and do they buy in to the bottoms up improvement plan and tell MLS to get with the program or stuff it..

I'm a believer in that typically a program should replace their manager every two World Cup cycles or things have a tendency to get stale. We'll see how things progress after Russia, but at this point I'm fully behind Jurgen for the 2018 World Cup and that's all that matters right now.
