Parents who want son released from Baylor team: 'This isn't about football'

Fucking IDIOTS. Not IMMEDIATELY releasing those kids the same day you fired Briles was going to bite them in the ass.

Is EVERYONE that's getting a Baylor paycheck this fucking STUPID???? I've never seen this many repeatedly bad decisions in the midst of a scandal of this magnitude.

This doesn't bode well for the quality of education you get at Baylor either. People are going to make assumptions that if your leaders lack common fucking sense, WHY should they pay to send their kids there?????

Which leaders? President, AD and Football coach are gone and not making these decisions. Is it Grobe not releasing them? Is it the regents? Is it a secretary in the athletic department? Who is denying the release?

SOMEBODY is in charge......and the regents should have issued full releases from the get go.

In reading the article, it doesn't appear any individual is in charge.

"Is Baylor trying to wait out disgruntled recruits, or is it just disorganized right now?"

"We've yet to talk to the head football coach," Julian said. "During the recruiting process, they always have time for you. But now nobody has called me, my wife or JP. I understand that Coach Grobe had to pass his NCAA recruiting compliance test, but that's been done now."

Grobe passed that test Tuesday morning, per the Dallas Morning News.

Have the regents given Grobe the authority to grant/deny the releases? If so, that should happen quickly now.

I agree with you. This falls on the regents. It is on them since they relieved the previous three that were authorized to decide. The buck stops with them.

It really is special watching Texas fans cheer as Baylor implodes.

You almost have it whittled down to the old SWC days after SMU was given the death penalty. At some point in time, your competition will be so diminished you may win another conference championship again.

This is a different kind of case for me. Usually I'm not a proponent of punishing the innocent players left behind but being a guy and knowing how guys talk I have a hard time believing ANYONE on the Baylor team didn't know what was going on. Plus Baylor is a small school so it's pretty much a guarantee the other players 100% knew what was occurring. While being complicit doesn't make you guilty of a crime it also means you're not an innocent victim. They chose to stay there knowing what was going on and what could happen

1. Baylor is not canceling football or any sport
2. Baylor is not leaving the Big 12 voluntarily
3. Baylor needs the revenue because of all the litigation Baylor is going to undergo, not to mention, the construction programs that Ken Starr started and Ken Starr threatened to sue the Big 12 back in 2010.

I hope all the women that were assaulted ask for $100,000,000 each from the University and from the WACO Police Department.

I am not a lawyer, but it seems to be that the Waco Police Department is an accessory to all of the crimes.

Why would any Dad send their daughter to Baylor?

only a husker fan would be on Baylor's side just to somehow spite UT. Yup, the obsession is that bad that the corn aggies are siding with Art Briles.

The last thing I want to see is the sanctions levied, and then pulled later. Such as what happened at Penn State. At Penn State, the offending parties had either been put in prison; or had died.

But there still needs to be scholarship sanctions against the school.

LOL. Didn't you know this entire scandal was a Texas conspiracy to destroy the only REAL power team in the nation, Baylor?

Now their "fans" say they have proof that OU and Texas are tampering with the 2016 recruits, and that the NCAA won't give them a release on appeal because of it.

The proof? JP Urquidez's father's email/text/whatever stating why he wants out of the program and why they should have a release.....because OBVIOUSLY no real parent can put that many sentences together, it had to be UT coaches writing it for him.......

SMH Baylor forums right now are a GOLD MINE of sheer comedy and delusion

So apparently Baylor is NOT going to release any of the players from their LOI. That means 4-6 week appeal process and I'm sure the NCAA is NOT happy about this. They clearly don't want to get involved, because those kids/parents are most assuredly going to lawyer up.

It just blows my mind that Baylor regents are THIS stupid.

OMG this. I don't know what the rules are on linking other forums here but we could have a baylorfans thread of the day discussion and it would be greatness.

When they are saying Briles needs to be reinstated and the law school needs to overturn Title IX it's just entertaining.
