Wasn't sure where to put this so I stated a new thread.

Mason Rudolph ladies and gentlemen:
Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph hits perfect pass to receiver on jet ski (Video)

Good to see him putting work in while on vacation. I'm a little irritated though-guy in the jet ski didn't bobble and drop the ball so he isn't out there with one of his receivers.

Gotta figure current and past Tech qb's in the conference are posting similar videos.

Mahomes is the best....but the dirt burglers won't like hearing that!

He doesn't have near the supporting cast though.

He puts up the best stats. .

I figure Mahomes is the fantasy pick, Mayfield gets the collegiate glory, and Rudolph has the best upside as a pro. Stidham can beat all 3 but who knows where he plays next season.

The wild card is Kenny Hill IMHO. If he's matured and will listen to the words of the QB whisperer Sonny Cumby, he's got the talent to make some noise.

I agree. With him I'll believe it when I see it. But I said the same thing when Boynkin was throwing wounded ducks so it's a possibility.

TBH, I'm surprised Foster Sawyer hasn't taken the reigns. Our OC targeted Allen, Rudolph, Kaaya, and Sawyer in that class and he had Sawyer as his no 2 behind Allen. Three of them saw starts as true Freshmen. Two are unquestionable starters and another is an obvious heir apparent after escaping a bad situation. All three are going to be at least day 2 picks. Kinda surprised to see Sawyer isn't in the mix with the rest.

Not a bad batch of QB's in the league. Of course that sucks if your team doesn't have one. :tsk:

I don't understand how a team doesn't have a good QB.
They are literally all over the place, in High Schools, Junior Colleges, and non P5 schools.

Many do but most suck at development, ergo Texas.

The rusty cows sucked at both evaluation and development for a few consecutive years.

Yeah we're still living with Mack's terrible decisions recruit wise.

When we tell people Strong inherited a very LOW talent team, people said we were making excuses. The proof is in the pudding so to speak. Swoopes, Heard, Ash were all Mack recruits. Buechele, Strong's first QB recruit, has already outplayed Swoopes and Heard as a true freshman and will most likely be a day 1 starter.

Weren't most of Mack's recruiting classes in the top 10 every year if not the top 5? Let's go back a bit....

2006 - 4rd
2007 - 3rd
2008 - 10th
2009 - 3rd
2010 - 2nd
2011 - 5th
2012 - 3rd

Damn. LOW talent?

I myself find it somewhat hard to believe that, with a recruiting ranking average of 4.2 there in those numbers.

Now don't get me wrong, I'll concede that a number of those STATISTICALLY HIGHER RANKED COLLEGE FOOTBALL RECRUIT players had no talent when they were recruited by yall....heck, they chose yall....that only proves that they may not be the most "cerebral" of players. But the coinkydink of ALL that talent having NO talent seems a little too....oh I don't know.....bullshit?

Dumb. If a wr gets on a jet ski during bedlam, now we know exactly who's he's gonna throw it to. :L:thumb:

The problem with this is that it's all media driven. I'm telling you as well, Mack recruiting started to go down in 2010. Badly. Some us saw it and started screaming for his head. I used to take a bath from some of my fellow Texas fans on the old CBS message board. I was ready to fire his ass after 2011. The media loved Texas and loved Mack more. Of course they are going to make him look like a hero. This "star" system is a bunch of media driven crap. I do think that the 4 and 5 star players have the best chance to make a big impact, but it's a big jump from hs to college. It just gets faster. It's still a crap shoot with these guys.

Wow. I wasn't impressed with Mahomes at all. There's like 3 or 4 guys I'd put above him. He's tough and good at getting out of trouble without being an great athlete but other than that. Meh.

I think that part of the problem is that coaches at the top levels insist on running their systems, rather than building a system around their existing assets.

But I think the bigger problem is that in High School, a lot of the QBs (or anyone else, actually) who go on to college can get by on raw athletic talent. But at the college level, everyone has that level of talent, so you have to work on fundamental technique - a requirement that is new to most guys at the college level. So while they might be standouts in high school, they might lack the work ethic to develop as they need to at the college level.

You see a lot of that in the classroom too, btw - not at all unique to athletics.

SHOW ME the talent.

HOW MANY OF THEM got drafted? Even FA signings? Any? Hmmmmmm???

Those kids PEAKED in HS. They got recruiting bumps because Mack wanted them. With Strong's staff very FEW of them were even good enough to beat out true freshmen for playing time.

You've seen the results with your own eyes on the field. The Texas team that nearly beat you two years ago and did last year was nearly all underclassmen.

Garrett Grape got drafted after he left Texas for SMU.

I've never seen a group of fans brag more about a group that lost 7 games. Including a shut-out to a 3-9 Iowa State team. :L Man I hope yall get back to being relevant this year for everyone's sake.

He was a total trainwreck with a cannon arm.

You can't name all this supposed talent either. Neither can I, and I'm a lot more familiar with the roster than you.

Once again - this team is starting nearly all freshman and sophmores. The upperclassmen were HORRID. The team leader is a true sophmore, Malik Jefferson.......let that sink in. A TRUE SOPHMORE. He was the team leader as a freshman!

The program as a whole had gotten lazy.....lackadaisical. We were basically landing kids that just wanted to be here, there was no scouting, talent evals, nothing. There were a few good kids......but most of them just expected to show up and everyone else quit on the field against them.

WHY do you think Strong had to clean house his first few weeks in? He booted 15 of those kids out of the program off the top!

I said you guys wouldn't like that statement.

Which three or four are better than Mahomes? Not the team, just the QB.
