let's have the French Open thread be a place to actually discuss tennis matches at the 2nd major of the year
I hate how the (non-Federer) top players were so melodramatic when they went to the blue clay. Sure, there were some slips. Then there were substantially more slips at Wimbledon.
Part of life is adaptability. Fed proved he could do it. Rafa and Nole couldn't. It's boring for the fans to see the monotonous red clay, but since the people that win have the loudest voices, it will never change. Why risk losing your dominance?

I agree the whining over the blue clay was silly.
I agree with their original reasons to try out the blue clay, which was for better visibility.
I think it did help see the ball better. Blue also why I think the AO now has one of the best color schemes too.
I mentioned this on the FO thread, hence the creation of this one. I agree with everything here except the AO blue was hard to see on TV. USO blue is much better.
Maybe @Old Lion would want the AO colors reversed, so the outer blue as the main court color.
The outer blue looks close to the main blue on the USO court, to me. What do you think?
