Good read JJM.

I thought this was interesting:

There’s one key difference this time around, and Epley’s extremely proud of it: Philipp reports to Epley, not head football coach Mike Riley.

Epley isn’t planning to micromanage. But he told Eichorst he wouldn’t come back unless the strength coach reported to the assistant A.D. for S&C.

I do believe the title of this thread is misleading.

I despise Pederson like the next guy, but I highly doubt Epley was assigned to physically shovel snow.

He was put into an "administrative position" and was "handling facilities, snow removal and security".

Do you really think he was out there shoveling walks, cleaning toilets, and carrying a can of mace around in a campus security uniform? :L

He was simply the manager of those departments.

i.e. He organized, scheduled, and managed the personnel who do those tasks.

I assume that is to keep a HC from playing someone with injuries and putting them at further risk for something more serious.
It's to keep Riley and Phillip from saying to each other "yeah, he's got a pulled hammy, but we need his experience, etc..

Good on Epley for protecting athletes.

Beyond his shoveling skills I guess this guy has other duties somehow related to being the Godfather of modern day strength and conditioning and has released the big board list. Intriguing, the names ne'er the top pertaining to fooseball

Huskers' Boyd Epley says it’s more than numbers game

Otherwise known as athletic hernia...it was a MAJOR issue in the early '00s. Had at least two kids in 2002 that were granted waivers for extra eligibility, and that's only the ones that got hurt early enough in the season to qualify. That, combined with the fact that he didn't get along with Frank, is why he was moved to a different position.

Looks like Riley should spend more time recruiting the Husker volleyball team

DeAngelo Evans was one of the players who got the injury. He was never the same back after the injury.
