Two names that jump out at ma are Mark Barron and Travis Benjamin.
But I really do not know much about either.
Barron I think is a decent hard hitting Safety and Benjamin a smaller speedster WR.
Not real high on the need list but could be good additions.

I love Ruben Randle and wanted BB to draft him out of college. He's 6'4" 215 lbs and runs the 40 in 4'45. Eli never threw to him because had Hicks and Beckem and other Wr that he liked more. Last year Randle started to emerge but Beckem was always the main target. He's perfect for Brady outside the numbers.

I like him as well. If the Pats could grab him and Forte that would make me very happy. Sure up the Oline for Scar with a FA and tge draft is all gravy.

I like Mark Barron myself. I think he can play a hybrid S/LB on this team. He played with HT and Williams, so maybe that will help. BB likes those Bama players and he also tried to trade for him before he was sent to Stl. Could add depth at 2 positions.

I like Allen and Green also if Chandler gets cut. Both are athletic and can play that Wright role and we will have Williams left for a blocking TE.

I have seen a lot of Travis Benjamin out here in NE Ohio. While he is small (5'-10'', 175), he has great hands, is very fast and has become Cleveland's "go-to" receiver when Josh Gordon is not available.
As for left tackles in the draft, I am hoping players like Jason Spriggs, John Theus and Kyle Murphy might be available when the Patriots pick.

damnit... Posted that from my cell. Clearly didn't work

Meant to Say Mohamed Sanu

Prison cell? As in bad signal inside the concrete and steel?
As in drunk tank or more long term?
Stay away from Hernandez. He turns on his friends.

I just had a thought about free agency. My thinking is that BB is said to be considering trading Chandler Jones. The Pats really want to extend their top defensive players (Hightower, Collins and Jones), but may not have enough money to sign all three. With the emergence of Jabaal Sheard and second year players Geneo Grissom and Trey Flowers available, BB may be willing to trade Jones. A most likely trading partner would be the Giants, who really need help along the defensive line. While they would be reluctant to trade their first round choice, they might be willing to trade their second rounder. Then, to sweeten the pot, perhaps the Giants could work a "sign and trade" deal with one of their potential free agents. I would be happy with either Rueben Randle (my first choice) or Prince Amukamara (a gamble due to his injury history). With a high choice in the second round, I am hoping the Pats could draft both a left tackle (Jason Spriggs?) and a running back (Alex Collins?) in that round. BB may have already started the dominos falling on that by releasing Leonard Johnson (maybe to make room for a vet like Amukamara). Just a thought.

I'm with you on all of this but Amukamara. Jones likely wont get traded unless he agrees to an extension with that team. The Giants have the 10th pick in the first and the 9th (40) in the second.

I'm very excited about Flowers. He was awesome in the preseason.

I think you see Jones around this yr, there is no need to trade him. He is still under his rookie contract. I think he stays, then gets the tag next yr. That is when BB might trade him. Then again, who knows with Billy Boy. Maybe it takes a team desperate in camp after an injury to a major player?

I also thought Randell was a FA this yr, so not sure why we trade for him. However, I am on board with bringing him in. Big body with speed.

I think they keep Jones as well. It's hard to replace what he brings to the team especially at the rookie contract price. Give Grissom and Flowers another year in the system to see if they can become the future?

Chandler is definitely trade bait. How likely that we get the offer we want?
Chandler is weak against the run. Maybe he'll continue to improve but for now he is a pass rush specialist.
We don't need to trade him so that makes him even better bait.....

Rueben Randle and John Kuhn would be good additions but I'm sure the Packers will resign Kuhn.

I like the idea of brining Randle over at the right price.
Kuhn is a prototypical FB with a tad more offensive skill. Pats have Develin coming back after being out last year. If he's healthy he's a lot younger and can handle that role for the Pats at less of a cost. Pats need a Forte, Ivory or even to a lesser degree Morris style back. Don't know if they can make a contract work for any of them? So may need to settle for a 2nd tier FA RB. Lots of FAs this year. Naturally, all Pat fans are hoping Lewis returns to form?
