I liked it. One minor gripe is that they released a lot of key scenes online before the movie came out. It was like you already saw half the movie before you walked into the theater.

I went at 1:40pm Friday, and there were adults bringing their middle school kids to this movie.

I'm glad to see Ryan Reynolds achieve some big-screen success. He starred in a sitcom from 98'-01' called Two Guys & A Girl (along with Nathan Fillion), that never got its due. I thought it was better than Friends. It was definitely a lot funnier that Friends, IMO. It didn't suffer from a lot of the boring, cookie-cutter mainstream sitcom humor. Most of the jokes and one-liners still hold up.

My wife and I are going to see it tonight.

I believe it was you that said men will love it and women will hate it but it appears everyone loves it even babies. Let us know how it goes. I'm going tomorrow and I can't wait much longer.

I've read many reviews and watched the trailer and just think it is more of a man's kind of show than a woman's.

The Friday Deadpool box office results are in, and the Merc with a Mouth set a new record for a Friday in February with an estimated $47.5 million from 3,558 theaters (including the record $12.7 million from Thursday previews)!

I was planning on checking this out with my brother this weekend. Unfortunately, my SIL got diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday & now I am hosting my brother & his 4 daughters ages 1-7, for the weekend. :tsk:

We got a reprieve. Mom is going to take the kids for the day while my brother, dad, & I head to the theater.

Just saw it. And I have to say it sucked ass.

Jk. Such an awesome change of pace from normal superhero movies. Loved the reference to the X men actors McAvoy and Stewart lmao.

And did it with a 58 million dollar budget, compared to the blockbuster budgets of the other Superhero movies.

Unfortunately, I don't get to see this til Wednesday. Bought my tickets!

This thing is crushing records! This got green lit for a squeal before it was released. When they were expecting a opening weekend of $55M-$70M. We all got what we wanted. No more excuses for studios to not make R-rated comic book movies.

Stunned by just how damn well it did at the box office. I didn't expect it to bomb because Deadpool has a sizable and very loyal cult following but those numbers are insane.

I haven't seen it yet but I did read about the post credit scene and all I can say is...FUCK YEAH!

CABLE IN DEADPOOL 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was at least 100 people in the theater for the earliest Friday matinee I was at.

Craziest thing is I heard they trimmed the budget by like 7 mil. Which is a main reason for a lot of those jokes. They had to cut a motorcyle chase, some action scenes and have deadpool "forget his guns" for budget reasons.

So no one really expected this monster hit. Which is awesome as now they can go even bigger for the sequel.

Sometimes, having budget restrictions forces you to focus more on story, to make up for shortcomings in the effects. It can be a very good thing to have those constraints. Look at Lucas and the Prequels, he went crazy with expensive CGI, and didn't bother with any story.

I hope they keep their eye on the writing ball when they get the check for 200 million for the sequel.

Yeah, same actor had a huge budget and a bigger built in audience for Green Lantern. Which was terrible because they replaced story with pretty CGI.
