Stan Kasten is the President and CEO of the Dodgers. He's the captain of this ship. He's the one that hired Andrew Friedman. He's the one who orchestrated the Nick Punto Trade to give the Dodgers the most expensive club in MLB history. He's the day-to-day decision maker who is guiding this franchise into the future. He's been the mastermind of all the big picture franchise moves since Guggenheim saved us from the McCourts.

He's handed Baseball Operations over to Andrew Friedman, and essentially has given Friedman free reign to do anything he wants to do, but Kasten is still the man at the top of the totem pole. If there's something the Dodgers are into, he's the one with the last* word. That includes the TV channel, Camelback Ranch, Dodger Stadium staff and renovations, etc etc etc.

So, what are your thoughts? Do you like the direction that he's steering this club?

*Obviously Mark Walter is the owner and can fire him, but Kasten is the one actively running the Dodgers every day.

Absolutely

I haven't been more excited as a Dodgers fan ever. (granted I'm only 19 :D)

The team has been a perennial contender the last 3 years. While they haven't won a championship yet, I think we all know how difficult that is. The farm system is booming. The team is willing to spend on international talents. The future looks bring now and then going forward. Also all the renovations that took place at the stadium have been awesome.

The only issue has been the TV fiasco and while I have TWC so it's a non issue for me, some fans have been quite screwed over. That probably slightly decreases the interest in general around the team, bu they've put the money they got out of the TV deal into the stadium and team, so it's a good trade off for me.

Kasten brings a vision implemented with consistency and candor. From a business standpoint, he's clearly experienced and savvy. He turned this organization around after it was decimated by McCourt and he did it incredibly efficiently.

However, changing culture is never easy. Players need to come to LA to win. He can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink.

I loved what he's done. Now the pieces need to step up and execute.

Great point about the tv fiasco. What a joke, all involved should feel shame.

I agree. Our players need to execute at this point. We have a stacked Farm system so reinforcements should be able to help. We are hopefully in a position to have a "next man up" mentality.
