Lone Star, Shiner Bock.
...and since there are about a billion new indie beers in Central Texas, I indulge in them from time to time.

I missed this last time I saw this thread.

How was it?

When I saw it at my muni I joked about the beer with the manager. The whole thing about Guinness is that it's dark, thick, and heady. This kinda defeats the point.

Its pretty damn good. Think of a cross between Boston Lager and Stella.

I'm making a trip down to Kane Brewing (Ocean Twp, NJ) on Saturday. Can't wait.

One of my favorite DFH beers. Plan on buying another 4 pack so I can age a bunch of them.

Schells Goosetown. One of the more popular offerings of my local brewery. It's light and has a pilsnerish feel, but with an easy finish and hints of citrus. I always say firebrick is the better beer they make but this stuff is just so easy to drink.

Holy Mountain is killing the farmhouse ale game in Seattle. I wouldn't put them quite in the Hill Farmstead level just yet, but they're close.

Kane Brewing Simplicity, their limited Belgian pale ale.
Simplicity.jpg

I tried a few other things there, notably Overhead. Just a fantastic East Coast IPA. Also have a bottle of their Vengeful Heart (hoppy barleywine). One of my local bars gets Kane in regularly, hopefully they can get their limited stuff in. I'm dying to try Morning Bell (imperial milk porter with coffee) or Sunday Brunch (imperial milk porter with coffee, cinnamon, and maple syrup).

Oh, for fuck's sake! Can't beer just be beer without people gaying it up? :L

A bit dark for my taste but it's smooth and at 6% knocks you on your ass. Not bad but I think I'm more interested in trying their Amber.

Hey hey hey let's not knock a man for his booze. I'd agree if he was comparing versions of Kinky but in general alcohol preference is a highly personal decision. Beer snobs know their stuff more so than most of us.

Finally out. Delicious. I'm enjoying this one more than last year's batch, and that was still fantastic.

Also got another bottle of Port Brewing Old Viscosity. Very smooth for 10%.
