I didn't say anything about not criticizing Newton. I agree with some of the criticism. I just think many people are going way over the top with it.

Also my post had nothing to do with criticism. I just stated Homer and I have different definitions of "chump". It also wasn't mean't to be taken seriously. I mean...I posted a picture of the Dos Equis guy for god's sake.

Fair enough. I just get a little ticked off when fans use the "Who are you to criticize this guy who makes lots of money, bangs hot chicks, and plays pro sports"?

lol. 13 seconds in
Peyton going after the snap over his head in the superbowl when tied 0-0 at the time.

He was looking back down the field at who was coming at him as he jogged towards the ball in the endzone, not even at the football.
He took off after the ball and only slowed up when there were 3 guys ahead of him. Manning's not winning a footrace to the ball, and that's completely different than Newton deciding not to dive after a fumble that he's right next to.

Try again.

A quick search only shows cams fuckup and manning in his prior superbowl. It's going to take too much time searching now. So either take my word for it or we can do an avatar bet (need to make it work my while if I have to dredge through donkey game replays).
You made the assertion, it's up to you to prove it. Why should I take your word for it? Sounds to me like you're just backing away from something that you can't prove.

Of course.

When I think of a "chump" though, I don't think of someone who makes lots of money, bangs hot chicks and plays pro sports. If that's being a chump then...where do I sign up??!!

even so... Manning is still going to try to get the football... Unlike Cam.

You misinterpreted what I said, got called on it and can't man up.

Color me not surprised.

I'm sure your perception is your reality. Go ahead and keep calling millionaire, professional athletes "chumps". It doesn't sound ridiculous at all.

Nah not completely different...the concept is the same...did he play it out 100% or not? Just b/c you don't think you're going to win the foot race you don't quit on the play. Hell yes Cam should've made a play for the ball.

My point is, everyone is killing Cam for that play (as they should) but this ain't ground breaking...many QBs have chosen to protect themselves. I posted yesterday..Matt Ryan had a clear path to a 1st down in a game but there was going to be a collision...did he go for the 1st down? No...he wanted to avoid the hit.

True but Seahawks fans are the only one shitting on him in order to validate their QB. A little bit of a difference.

I think Hawk fans are way past validating Wilson. His resume speaks for itself.

I think the Cam/Russell comparisons are going to continue because these two more than any other two QB's both have success but are completely opposite of each other. It's almost a good vs evil thing with these two. Not suggesting Cam is evil, but Wilson has the "humble, boy scout" image and Cam has the "look at me, I'm the greatest" image so people are going to want to pit the two against each other. We used to do it with Kaepernick and Wilson until Kaep imploded and fell off the face of the earth. And the Luck vs Wilson comparison isn't quite as much fun because they are both perceived as "good guys". Cam is the player people love to hate so when he stumbles like this past week we like to rub it in as much as possible I guess.

I don't know if this has been mention before, but I wanted to bring it up. If anyone watched the Seahawk and Cowboy game this past season, they would remember when Russell Wilson threw an interception to Greg Hardy deep in Seahawk territory. Wilson was the one that make the touchdown saving tackle. The Cowboys ended up having to settle for a field goal. The game ended up 13-12 in the Seahawk's favor. I wonder if Cam would have tried to tackle a 285 pound Hardy after throwing an interception to him?

Wilson is actually pretty tough. I think people believe he's small because he's short, but he's actually pretty beefy. Especially for a guy his height.

Yeah, I remember that. Skip Bayless actually tried to say it was Hardy's fault the Boys lost that game because Hardy let himself be tackled by Wilson.
