Chip Kelly and Eagles to part ways after the season...

Maclin came down to money. If they were consistent about not overpaying guys I could live with it. But...they paid Byron Maxwell $63 million over six years. They paid Demarco Murray $42 million over five. They could have paid Maclin. It was a choice they made. A bad choice. Btw we are paying Miles Austin up to $3 mil including incentives. That's basically the difference between what Maclin got paid by KC, for some perspective. Would you rather have Maclin and Chris Polk than Miles Austin and Demarco Murray right now?

See now this is just unnecessary. I back up my opinions with facts and solid logic. You respond by calling me a moron. Kind of ironic for the one with no solid argument calling the one with one a moron isn't it?

We all know Maclin simply accepted the better offer and he is way too classy to trash anyone on his way out the door....so anything he says at that point is really irrelevant.

I agree I would have overpaid Maclin. rather than do those other deals. The fact remains though that Maclin was a Free Agent and made the ultimate decision on what he was going to do. For all we know the Eagles offered to match the offer? Why would that not come out you may ask? Well maybe neither side wanted it out there? Maclin and the Eagles would both rather have the fans believe that this was about money.

Not saying this is the way it went down, just pointing out that the only thing we really know is that Maclin, NOT the Eagles, NOT Chip Kelly made the final decision on where he was going to go.

For that reason, it is somewhat unfair to blame Kelly for something he could not control anyways. Most of these moves we discuss are his legacy for better or for worse. He made the calls on DJAX, McCoy, Foles, Mathis, Herremans and Cole. But as far as we know, Maclin was never going to stay.

Oh so NOW you want to hear MY arguments? Check it, i told you all winter/spring long Chip was a mistake at GM and was fuckin up the roster. You didn't want to hear it then and yet here we sit at 4-6. So while i didn't call directly you a moron earlier, looks like the clown shoes fit you well.

And yet the one example you want to focus on here (Maclin) is the one that Kelly could not control.

The reality is that Kelly the GM has done a better job than Kelly the coach this year.

If the players the GM got don't fit the coach's scheme then the GM hasn't done a good job has he.

This has exactly been my main problem with chip. Chips ego is bigger than his brain. Chip though jmac was worth what he said it was and refused to budge. Chip is a megalomaniac.

And for the record I liked the Murray signing. But that was before that idiot cut Mathis and then decided to use Murray as an east and west back instead of North and South!

Chip Kelly was out of his depth.

I always questioned the hurry up offense used early because if you have a slow start, your defense has to get on the field a lot more times and can get worn down.
