Rain in the for cast for Friday should make scent conditions awesome for Saturday.

Maybe. I've not always found that to be the case. Also saw there's some call for rain Saturday. I'm not going. It will be too hot anyways.

All bobwhites?
No we have some Blue Quail also. Birds held tight and did not fly far when busted. Wifey and I had a great morning. We hunted three hours and got our limits. Hard to say how many coveys seemed like we were mixing coveys together.

I got a big old buck running a scrape line and I hope I can fool him into coming out in the daylight and within 30-40 yards. Bam right in the Gizzard with my Ted Nugent arrow.

Great hunt yesterday in west Texas. Three of us hunting had anywhere from 5-7 dogs on the ground at any given time. Had 30 by noon and had our limit by 4:00 I think today was tough for some reason. Dogs were having trouble smelling and we weren't getting much pointed. Hunted till about 3:00 and ended up with 22 I think. Cover is THICK. Gonna be a fun season.

Went out hunting this weekend for the first time with my brother and uncle and saw squat. I wasn't actually going to do any shooting but I was there to help process something in the event that they got it. Seems like the deer population got hit pretty hard in some parts of Michigan the last few years because every time I've been out to his property I've seen deer except the one time I went to eat one lol.

Got a new dog coming in two weeks. Talked to the trainer Sunday night. I talked to a landowner in Canadian the other day and he said the Quail are in better shape than he has seen in a long time. I have not hunted my place over in that area but will after deer season.

Have some good friends come in for a Mule deer hunt and instead of staying at the house they want to have deer camp. Only a couple of miles from H.Q. but it's deer camp. I see a headache in my future.

I have not had this place long but we see some decent bucks. They kill a few that big around this area but 150 in. deer would be a big one on me. Now Whitetails we have some 170-180 in. deer.

Nice hunt on my own today. 8 coveys, and a limit. Would've been done a lot sooner if I'd gotten more shots on covey rises. Got some really nice dog work too.

We were able to hunt Pheasants Saturday for the first time in awhile. I had cut my Milo long for some cover and left some standing for browse. Had a nice hunt but the fields were wet and sloppy.
