Is there a deadline where we can sign him for the rest of the year, just so we have his rights? Not saying we must keep him, but I'd like him on the team. If he could be Burke's reliever (Exum/Burke/Stockton), I'd love it. I mean, Evans isn't the future so it isn't a big deal if Stockton's not...

From Larry Coon's FAQ:

++++++++++++++

In other words, after their 80th game (64th in 2011-12) or after the 10th day before their last regular season game (whichever comes first) teams can no longer sign 10-day contracts.

Those highlights were terrible. He only had 1 good halfcourt assist (and 2 halfcourt assists total, but the one at the end of the clip was rather easy).

Shouldn't be penalized, nor praised, I suppose. Still, if he messed up, it wouldn't be on there unless it were crucial or humorous.

Stockton's 28 assist / Malone's 32 point game will be on NBA TV, on 7/24, as a part of "NBA Hardwood Classics".

Perfect, that's Karl Malone's birthday.

Then that post should be in the Karl Malone Thread too. Can you copy it there, Mr. MHSL82?

I don't read most Bleacher Report articles because they involve too much clicking, and I don't like their format.

I went to the opening page, and this doesn't seem worth the hassle of dealing with their format.

So I don't know what your post is really talking about. Unless care to explain / paraphrase/

I didn't read or view it either, just saw the title. It's only using current players making an ultimate PG, saying Robdo's vision, Irving's handle, Paul's Basketball IQ, etc. I just assumed there would be a shooting/scoring category.

I see. I would go with Paul's handle.

As for Basketball IQ, I'd have to think about whether there's a current PG that has a good amount of that.

If not, I'd defer to a player at another position that handles the ball well, but with good IQ.

I'd go with Parker for IQ. The Spurs move the ball a lot so he has a lot of options to consider, and he makes the right ones. He's also much more in motion, than someone like Paul, who just dribbles while stationary. Yes I like Paul's historic low turnovers, but he doesn't move. He just protects the ball.

Guys like Nash, Price, Stockton would be in motion. So I think it's more impressive when they could have low turnovers.

Nash and Stockton weren't good at turnovers. But what I mean is their style of play to be in motion and do a lot of good things, is more impressive to me than Paul, who would get fake assists @ New Orleans (biggest home vs road assist differential), and who sometimes also dribbles too much.

Looking at the best players with career turnover rates:

NBA & ABA Career Leaders and Records for Turnover Pct | Basketball-Reference.com

While they aren't PGs, Michael Jordan and Vince Carter were good ball handlers who apparently didn't turn it over much. Nice to see that from Carter.

Scanning through the list, I guess World B. Free at 10.9 TO%, and Lebron James at 12.51%, and John Starks at 12.67%, Larry Bird at 12.73%, and Gary Payton at 12.79%, Nick Van Exel at 12.90, and Chris Paul at 12.96% were the best PGs at turnovers.

I never saw Free play, so I don't know what his style was.

I saw Starks in some games, but not enough to get a feel for his style.

I already commented that Paul doesn't move much, so I'm not as impressed with his low turnovers.

Those other guys were more motion players, so their low turnovers are more impressive.

I'm surprised Billups isn't on the list. I will always love how Billups played in 7 Finals games in 2005, and only had 9 total turnovers. His team almost always had a chance to shoot the ball because he didn't give it away.

Ok, Billups' career is 13.60, so that's why he's not on the 1st page.

Looking at Rod Strickland, it looks like he wasn't good at turnovers either.
