All this talk about GGG I really liked that guy and he's smart because he tries to pander to the Hispanic fan base. Because of the great reputation of toughness that so many Hispanic fighters have, but then He refuses to fight Ward. Whats up with that. So stop with the Mayweather is scared of GGG. Because GGG refuses to fight a Legit contender who would be an ideal matchup so please stop. I get Berto is a whack match up but please stop with the GGG stuff.
When that talk happened GGG had just fought at 147 & moved up. Ward was at 168 & talking of going to 175. But to give credibility to your claim. GGG had just started fighting in the US, & knew he wasn't ready for Ward (who is/was #2 pound for pound) So yes that was intelligent of GGG. The only one talking trash right now is Ward who isn't fighting anyone. bet if they asked Ward to move down to 160 to fight GGG he wouldn't do it.

The one person who I thought deserved a shot until his last Match up was Keith one time Thurman but he struggled in his last fight he's not ready for Mayweather. He should be fighting Bradley IMO.
as far as deserving a shot at mayweather I would say Kell Brook, but no way Floyd is gonna make his final match against that caliber. I think we all knew he would play it safe.

My only rebuttal to this is GGG is naturally a guy who can fight at 160 to 168 so to me I think people have to back off of the GGG vs Mayweather thing its silly. Because May weather is fighting at 147 and yeah they can do a catch weight at 154 but to me that still tilt things more in GGG favor. The masses would liked to see Mayweather lose but can we at least agree to pair him up with some one in his weight class. Brook would be good, Porter, Bradley, Mathtyssa, even Khan. Berto is the last person I thought he'd fight that should be on NBC. No way am I spending my hard earned cash on that fight.

I agree. I have even said here in the boxing area. Mayweather will not & it would not be fair to expect him to fight GGG. GGG is too big. Think even a reference of why not just have him fight a heavyweight to lose too LOL. I don't blame Mayweather for never considering that fight. I do blame Mayweather however for picking his last opponent though. that is a joke.

Nobody think this could be a tune up fight? I really think this isn't his last fight.

I also agree, but why is it okay for Mayweather to avoid an unfair fight such as this one and Cotto gets crucified for basically the same thing? Cotto is barely even able to make 160, his fight against Geale was at 157 and he was only able to make it to 153, yet supposed boxing experts on these boards say he is scared of GGG.

because Cotto is a champion at 160. He could give up the title, but he hasn't. So he should be expected to fight 160 title contenders as long as he holds the title.

Has there ever been less hype for a floyd fight?

Doubt it. I'm not sure I would watch him fight Berto if they had put it on Showtime for free.

It's boxing folks. You never know.

Fighting Berto is not exactly the safest bet Mayweather could find.

Berto is not really a good boxer. But make no mistake, he has real good speed and more than enough power.
Now Mayweather is going to slice him up for most of this fight ..we all know this. But it could get interesting if Mayweather goes against the ropes like we see him do.

Berto has the speed and power to maybe get that 1 punch in and end the fight right there and then ....and the national celebration will commence.

everyone is saying Mayweather is done and Mayweather says he has nothing left to prove...

how about 50-0.....? it would kill me to stop at 49-0 when that huge milestone is one fight away.

he could fight another patsy too.
