They kind of let Desmond off the hook for his picks. Would love to hear why he thinks MSU will come out of the Big 10 over Ohio State.

I mean I know the reason I would just be interested to hear what he would come up with as an answer.

If I had to guess, I would say that he expects Spartans to beat the Buckeyes.

Nope, Ohio St beats Michigan St.

But they lose to Michigan and Illinois, so MSU gets in.

You guys do realize that Desmond hates being in East Lansing because he hates the Spartans, Right?

And would love to hear what reasons he would give on why that will happen.

It should be noted that Desmond has VTech as his first team out. So apparently everyone is beating up on the Buckeyes in HowieWood.

I guess, but when was the last time we went into the season and the projected best 4 or 5 teams were actually the best 4 or 5 teams when it was all said and done?

Right before the season last year when Miller injured himself and was out, did you predict OSU was going to be the national champion? Playing a 3rd string QB and beating Alabama?

I see a 7-5 team, with 6-6 or 5-7 a real possibility. They just weren't that impressive last year.

They were 8-5 last year and lost 3 games by a FG. They return 10 starters on offense, and have one of the best O-lines in the country. Not saying they'll make the playoff, but I'd expect them to be a 9-3/10-2 type of team. They lose a lot on defense, but they generally always have a good defense.

That #5 ranked 2012 recruiting class are all seniors or RS juniors now. They project to have 13 senior starters. If they had a little easier schedule, I could have definitely seen them as a playoff contender.

What the hell is a "senior starter"?

Is that allowed?

Last year.

FSU, Bama, Oregon, and OSU were all ranked in the top 5 pre season and at the end of the season.

I guess that's true, but still -- with the news out of OSU no one actually believed that when the season started.

well that makes sense for last year but what about this year?
OSU probably is one of the best teams, but I don't know about the other 4 in the top 5. Logically, it's very unlikely that both MSU and OSU land in the top 5 to finish it out. Same with TCU and Baylor.

More than likely one conference will have two in the top 5. Michigan State has two games that are real threats (Oregon and @OSU) and a third that might be a problem (@Neb). Baylor has a joke schedule outside of TCU maybe Oklahoma.
