Tough call. Flip a coin between the Big 10 West and ACC Coastal. For Power 5s, those are just bad divisions in my opinion.

P12 North is a sneaky underdog in this one.

Outside of Oregon, the only other teams in the P12 North to make a bowl game were Stanford and Washington. And they were a combined .500 in conference.

Take away Oregon, and no other team won 9 games last year.

ACC. Filled with "Basketball first" schools.

At first, sure, one can think that, but reality is that Duke and Georgia Tech have stepped up to the plate the last couple of years.

If Miami and Virginia Tech can step it up again, it becomes a very solid division.

But as the question stands, it is worthy of a vote.

ACC Coastal right now pretty easily. VT has been down lately and so has Miami.

Pac12 North has Stanford and Oregon keeping it respectable.

Big10 West has Wisconsin and Nebraska.

SEC East is down in comparison to the West, but Georgia and Mizzou are somewhat respectable right now, and there are some other contenders in down times who are still somewhat decent.

VT beat the National Champs.

Stanford was 8-5 last year.

Holy shit is it cute seeing SEC fans cuddling up to Missouri being "respectable".

3 years ago you all thought they would roll in and get dominated. 3 years later and they are 2 time defending champs in the East. :pound:

I notice you didn't think it was so funny when I mentioned Nebraska as being respectable despite your team having accomplished less in recent memory.

I'm thinking you might be a little sore in the rear area when it comes to the SEC.

Why would I be sore about the most overrated conference on the country?

One win doesn't make a conference upsets happen. Oregon trounced the defending champion unbeaten FSU. Because VT beat OSU who trounced Wisky. And USC played an awful game vs BC and beat Nebraska , Washington beat Illinois and Cal beat northwestern. Does that make the BIG west the worst conference? No the ACC coastal was the weakest I don't think it's close

I have to say B1G West. Wisconsin is consistently a top 10-15 team, and I think Nebraska is on the right track getting back. Minnesota is nice but may be reaching their ceiling. Otherwise, that division is shit. The ACC Coastal may be weaker right now, but teams like Va Tech, Pitt and Miami should be better in coming years. I don't see much improvement from the B1G West teams outside of the 3 I mentioned.

B1G West was the worst last year(according to Sagarin) so I think they'll end up being the worst this year as well. They were awful in the non conf last year and I don't see that changing.

Games of note for the division:

Wisconsin vs. Alabama
TCU @ Minnesota
BYU @ Nebraska
Nebraska @ Miami
Stanford @ Northwestern
Northwestern @ Duke
Iowa @ Iowa State
Illinois @ UNC
Purdue @ Marshall
Virginia Tech @ Purdue

I don't see those particular games ending well for the B1G West IMO.

The Big 10 West was probably the worst, and it clearly has the worst future ahead of it.

They have the double whammy of current mediocrity PLUS having no obvious recruiting advantages to dig out making the future a little less certain as well.

The Big 10 West might become a semi-permanent Big 10 punching bag as the power in the Big 10 East grows.

The ACC coastal has some fertile recruiting spots within its reach to get back to prominence.

Big West has one really good team and one pretty good team that I don't think the ACC coastal can match up with. The bottom of the ACC coastal is better than the Big West. So between those two it is a matter of is it better to be all around mediocre or a couple of good teams, some mediocre, and some putrid teams.

So because the rest of the conference is really good, that means the North is bad? If the PAC scheduled like the SEC there'd be more bowl eligible teams.

Yeah, that's a tough slate for them. I think Nebraska probably goes 1-1 and maybe 2-0 in their 2 games. Maybe Purdue beats Marshall. Outside of that, they'll do well to get even 1 more win.
