100 dollars a day to feel safe.
20+ days served
Now just need immigration and the NHL to decide if and when he will play

The crazy part is the wife admitted to the abuse and stated it's happened before. Why she has not pressed further charges is beyond me. Seeing this happen over and over again (based on the wifes statements) how can the NHL allow him to play?

She has a lot to lose if she were to press charges. 3-4 mil a year, she gets deported if he gets deported (she is likely here on a spouse visa) and her kid loses the father figure in her life.

Ahh...having been through those beach jails (never Seal Beach however) that one is a cake walk. This location actually allows the convicted to work M-F, check in on Friday evening and get released on Sunday evening/Monday morning.

LA County is not a fun place - trust me, I know - I don't blame the guy for paying the money and requesting a Country Club Jail but if he didn't have money he wouldn't have a choice. He will get time served credit too and will be out in about 40-45 days, I'd be shocked if he did the full 90.

Smackdown, I believe all people deserve a second chance (lord knows in my case I got many more, many undeserved) so I say if the guy pulls his shit together and straightens up, respects his wife and understands here in America this is not tolerated, he should be allowed to play. The NHL has let Dany Heatley play, who killed a teammate, drunks and drug addicts, this should be no different. The man has a right to earn a living.

Now if he gets busted again, then I think they need to step in and exile him from the league. Being a first time offender (by legal definition since he has no other record) he should be given the opportunity like anyone else.

Puck I understand the 2nd chance however, the guy has repeatedly done it in the past and only has been caught once. Thus, has he not been given second chances already.

I am not saying I don't want to give the guy a 2nd chance or he does not deserve it, I am only saying this was not his first time (though it was the first time he was caught).

What is good for the team or what's good for society AKA send the message. I'm torn on this issue. Dany Heatley killed some one.

Well, we don't know that for certain. Has she said it? Yes. Has he ever been convicted of it, let alone accused of it? We don't know that and we can't assume he is guilty of anything except for what is on record.

By legal definition of this land's law, he has never been in trouble before so we can't vilify the guy because of a he said she said situation. My point: no proof, at the very least no beyond reasonable doubt (unlike this time where he was convicted).

I think with everything that transpired this year in LA with Voynov, Richards and Stoll the room does need to evaluated. The Kings went from a model 2 time Cup champ in 3 years to essentially the Raiders. But to remain competitive you have to have talent, and Voynov is a T2 defender on any NHL team.

As stated above, several guys have played this game after screwing the pooch (some many times over. Theoren Fleury, Bob Probert, Dino Cicarelli ring a bell?), one instance resulting in a death. Voynov should be watched closely but definitely given that second chance.
