Whether this is true or not, the Morris twins have left quite a blemish on this franchise the last couple of season. The technicals, the calling out of the fans and now this. Their stay in phoenix might be drawing to an end. It will be definitely something to consider during the offseason.

They should definitely try to trade them, but only if they get something equal back in return and GM McDUHnuh will find a way to mess that up. It starts at the top. This organization will not be relevant for at least 5 years.

I really hope we get rid of both of them.

Two least favorite players on the Suns in a long, long time.

The charges and arraignments have probably sapped the Morris twins' trade value, possibly rendering them immovable for the time being and the foreseeable future. But Phoenix still may want to explore a sign-and-trade with Detroit where the Morris twins head to the Pistons in exchange for free agent Greg Monroe. When the Suns played the Mavericks on ESPN on April 8, the network preceded that game by showing Boston at Detroit. On that broadcast, Doug Collins spent quite a bit of time discussing how the Pistons had recently enjoyed greater success while Monroe was out of the lineup due to injury because they could play just one big man (center Andre Drummond) and use a 'stretch four' to fully space the floor for Drummond and the pick-and-roll game with guard Reggie Jackson, similar to how Detroit head coach Stan Van Gundy had guided Orlando to the NBA Finals in 2009 with a spread-floor pick-and-roll offense and just one interior big man in Dwight Howard (or similar to how Phoenix usually played with Steve Nash to maximize his effectiveness and efficiency, along with the team's general offensive efficiency, albeit at a cost of defense and rebounding). Of course, most NBA teams nowadays strive to play that way more or less, and many of the relatively few who feature more traditional alignments (Memphis, Chicago, Portland, the Clippers, sometimes San Antonio) compensate via big men who step out on the floor to score from the high post and serve as facilitators hitting cutters and executing hand-offs.

In other words, the space-out Morris twins would complement Van Gundy's scheme and Detroit's present personnel more so than Monroe, who likes to work in the low-post. From Phoenix's perspective, meanwhile, the Suns badly need a better post-up game, rebounding, interior defense, and superior athleticism. Monroe is much more athletic than either of the Morris twins, he is a double-figure rebounder (10.2 per game this season, 9.7 over the last four years), and he is a physical player with good footwork and a legitimate post-up game, which is something that the Bledsoe/Hornacek-era Suns have long needed when the game slows down in the half-court. The Suns will still want a 'stretch four' to create more floor spacing at times, both for Monroe's post-up game and to maximize the efficiency of the high pick-and-roll (better floor spacing creates longer defensive rotations for the opposition, which in turn renders effective help defense on the play more difficult). In those situations, Monroe will serve as the center and Phoenix can find a long-range shooting big man to complement him—those players are now much easier to locate than big men who can post-up and rebound. Markieff Morris has shown some ability in those regards, but he is too inconsistent, his rebounding is too lackluster, and he often drifts out toward the wing and becomes a face-up player shooting long two-point jumpers, hence hurting his efficiency—given that he does not shoot quite as well as his brother. Monroe, conversely, possesses a genuine game on the low blocks and can pair with Alex Len in the starting lineup to give the Suns a much better rebounding team that can help ignite the fast break and the maximize the speed of the guards, who need to play in the open floor as much as possible.

Splitting up the brothers will probably have a bad influence on their game.

Not sure about that. Splitting them up might help with Markieff's attitude and bringing in Tyson Chandler might make him even play better.

They will both be gone by the end of this season. It maybe sooner is Aldridge decides to sign.

I could see a lot of moping from Markieff.

Hopefully the Suns will trade him soon, too.

Losing the Aldridge sweepstakes isn't good. We have to keep Markieff unless they have a true upgrade (or equal) ready to replace him. We know the Suns don't.

... true. Any trade would have to bring back someone of roughly equivalent value.

Marcus Morris is still bitching about being traded, he was griping on Twitter today that he is blocking most Suns fans and called them out for being bandwagon fans.

Get your panties out of a bunch Marcus. This is a business, you got traded like thousands of other athletes have. Move on, you were garbage anyways. Enjoy playing in front of 47 fans a night at The Palace.

I love the "bandwagon" fan thing. It basically says "You guys are lame because you won't consistently spend your hard-earned money to come watch a bad team." Why don't you give the fans a reason to show up? I don't know...maybe make the playoffs or something. 16 other teams do it every year.

Phoenix (and most cities) have always shown they'll support teams with even modest relevancy and it takes a period of protracted sucking for them to find other things to do with their time/$.

Sorry, Marcus, you were part of the problem...not the fans.

I will openly admit I was a bandwagon fan back in the day, the Lions sucked ass so I jumped aboard the Chargers bandwagon and the Pistons defensive minded teams while great did not interest me any longer like the Suns did. However, I believe you get to switch teams one time in your life and that's it, so for better or worse I will not be switching loyalties again the rest of my life.

I can't switch teams if I don't have roots in the city they are from. When my teams are awful (which is often), I just lose interest in the sport except for fantasy and Vegas sports books.

Players don't realize fans don't have to support them if they aren't good/entertaining. Would you still call Brad PItt your favorite actor if he suddenly rattled off 10 straight years of terrible movies and acting? You'd move on to something else.
