USC Overtakes Bama

Lane Kiffin was the reason they recruited well during the sanctions. I don't remember the details, but he had a plan on the way they recruited with the numbers in certain years to get through it. It was a big reason why USC hired him.

As far as early playing time - it's good for recruiting and helping that, but it's generally bad for the team in general. It's nice when you have a 5 star who can fill a role that is needed for sure, but the better scenario is to not have the hole to start with. It's a bit of a double edged sword.

10 services could rank Bama's recruiting #1 with one service naming another team and a thread like this would pop up naming the other team top recruiting team! Amazing!

Recruiting rankings have never mattered to me. All I care about is if Saban got the players he wanted.

Yeah, that's why USC split the sanctions and had the bowl ban for the first 2 years and the schollie reductions over the last 3. He spent the first 2 years getting as many recruits as he could in an attempt to lessen the effect of the schollie reductions and then used the fact that we were bowl eligible over the last 3 years to attract top recruits. It's why we had the same quality of recruits, just not the same numbers of recruits.

I think it depends on the kids. USC had several freshmen who stepped up and were big contributors last year, specifically Adoree Jackson, JuJu Smith and Damien Mama. Some others contributed as well, as solid backups, but those 3 had the biggest impact. The experience they got last year should only help to make them better. Obviously, USC would have preferred to not have to lean on them so much, but the numbers were the numbers and we didn't have a choice.

Besides, under Pete Carroll, the philosophy was that the best player plays, period. He didn't care what class a kid was in. If a true freshman proved to be better than an upperclassman, the true freshman played. Even if they don't start, they still get playing time if they show they deserve it. That continued under Kiffin and will no doubt continue under Sark.

Damn The 2016 game may be the most anticipated regular season OOC game in the last 20 years. A potential #1 vs. #2 matchup to start the year.

Truthfully, it's difficult to know. I mean, I've always said that the best way to stop threads like this is for you Bammers to just not respond (or at least respond a lot less), but you guys will go on for page after page. Kind of hard to find out if that will work or not when you guys respond 100% of the time. Especially you and BamaTee.

Is there some Bammer Bat Signal that let's you guys know when someone makes an unfavorable post about 'Bama or Saban so that you can all be sure to chime in?

I really don't care, then. I'll take that back...actually this is a great thing, since it takes away top recruits from coaches who could actually do something with them.

It's not very difficult to read the average 5 to 10 slam Bama threads in the college football forum. Now maybe you wouldn't notice! However, it's like two sarcastic smart asses pointing fingers at each other but one knows they are and the other one has no clue. Did you get that, Southern Cal Trojanfan, who runs his mouth constantly! Because if you didn't I know sign language too!

I posted it because there has been so much talk that nobody had a chance to displace Bama with the #1 class. I am no USC fan by any means, but the late push they made was incredible and I thought it would have been posted by someone anyway.
