Diego Rincones hit two more homers tonight, making it 7 on the year.

He's an interesting guy. Kinda reminds me of Miguel Gomez. He's not too athletic, pretty slow, average arm, no plate discipline and doesn't really look exciting, but he's consistently hit for two years and really has an amazing bat-to-ball profile.

I think he's always going to put up intriguing numbers in the minors, but it's going to be an even taller mountain to climb before he makes a major league impact because he will absolutely need to hit. The difference between him and Gomez that gives me some hope is that Rincones just turned 19 in June, whereas Gomez was 22 (nearly 23) at the same level.

I've noticed just about all of the relievers that were having good seasons at Augusta (Rubio, Van Gurp, Lanoo, etc) are getting knocked around with San Jose. Hopefully, at least a couple of them do better next season.

They were as ready as they were going to get, and so got thrown into the deep end of the Cal League. Not sure the stats mean much, but they are learning how to pitch to more advanced hitters than the Sally League. They will do better next year, and one or two might wind up in Richmond. There are some exciting prospects in the minors, but that's more an off season discussion. (So why not begin now?)

Chris Shaw was placed on the disabled list yesterday, retroactive to August 15th. Hopefully, he isn't done for the year. Haven't heard what his injury is. Haven't heard if Mac Williamson will be coming back either.

With the MiLB season nearing a close, I doubt Shaw plays again. We could possibly see Shaw go back to the AFL since he basically missed most of it last year, but they could also just let him get a head start on offseason workouts (assuming he's not badly injured)

Mac could in the majors in September, theoretically.

If Shaw is healthy in September, do you not see the team purchasing his contract? They'll have to do it in the offseason anyway.

Calling up Shaw wouldn’t cost 500k. It would only cost approx 70k
