How many games would the Yankees be leading the East by if we had Ellsbury available this season?

Judge pretty much done for the season

Strongly considering tracking down Jake Junis and kicking the living shit out of him

Who's in?

Junis is 6'2" 225. You're probably going to need BKS, Pure Steel, and Nasty.

The good news is the question of whether to give Pomeranz a qualifying offer has pretty much been decided.

Idk about the Sox though. I think it'll take 2020 for the Sox farm system to get there and there's not a lot of positional talent right now especially at the upper levels. The only guys I see in Portland/Pawtucket that could be contributors are Ockimey (while I like his bat, I think he's more of a solid contributor than a potential star unless he really cuts down on the K's) and Chavis (who was suspended and hasn't really shown he can hit outside of last year). I don't think anyone views Sam Travis as a potential MLB 1B at this point. Dalbec's been pretty awesome (.256/.372/.573 with 26 home runs and 27 doubles on 88 hits) but contact is still a question mark. Garrett Benge has really impressed so far in Greenville though it's only 105 PA (.325/.486/.450 with 25 walks) and it would be nice to see more power from him.

The pitching depth is pretty solid, but even the top guys have had issues (Mata's command, Houck's command issues though he seems to have ironed them out, Groome's injury, Scherff has gotten lit up in Greenville so far). Shawaryn's had a good year, but I'm a bit disappointed by how much his strikeouts fell off.

Tanner Houck's got a 3.24 ERA in the 2nd half to go along with a 66/16 K/BB ratio in 58.1 innings. He had a 45/44 K/BB ratio in 60.2 innings in the 1st half. He also gets a decent amount of ground balls (1.48 GO/AO ratio). He should be in Portland to start 2019.

Rays made out pretty well in the Smyly trade. Mallex Smith looks like a good outfielder.
