i wasnt a fan of the scandrick signing

Neither was I

Dude wore that blue and silver for 10 years. There was just no way to exorcise all of that "cowboy way" bullshit out of him. Too bad for him as a professional athlete, because I know that he still believes that he still got something left in his game.

I don’t think many of us were fans of the signing. When was the last time signing a cowboy really worked out well?

Here are some who actually played well for us after leaving Dallas. I know that this might be before some of you guys were around, but maybe some of the older guys will recall the contributions these former Cowboys bought to D.C.

G Ray Schoenke - Dallas 1963-1964, Washington 1966-1975

G John Wilbur - Dallas 1966-1969, Washington 1971-1974

RB A.D. Whitfield - Dallas 1965, Washington 1966-1968

TE Jean Fugett - Dallas 1972-1975, Washington 1976-1979

What about Calvin Hill and Duane Thomas?

Calvin Hill lasted a year and was injured more than he played. Duane Thomas in the other hand had real potential but management here evidently thought it better to make his silence a bigger issue than his talent in the same way that Dallas did when he was there both times.

In a 2010 book "The ones who hit the hardest" it was noted that Tom Landry became a much better coach bebecause of his interactions with Duane Thomas after learning the lesson...

"Sometimes you have to leave the gifted alone."
